"We were privileged to stay in a gorgeous suite in Fairmont Gold. We were celebrating Mother's Day and my daughter's birthday. Michael of the Fairmont Gold Desk Team went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. They helped me decorate the room for my daughter's birthday. Room service and restaurants were exceptional. On the Fairmont Gold floor, they have beautiful breakfast and snacks throughout the day late afternoon early evening hors d'oeuvres and incredible desserts, coffees soft drinks juice beautifully done. Impeccable. We enjoyed playing Scrabble and looking out at the beautiful harbor from the Fairmont Gold living room family room area. It feels like you were going back in time staying at the beautiful Fairmont Empress. The service is extraordinary and the feel and ambience of this gorgeous hotel makes you feel momentarily lost in time in the best way. We will be back soon."

"The TV was not working, finally they changed rooms, the noise of the elevator meant no sleep this was supposed to be a stress free evening. We had a hospital appt the next day at 6am, the room had a big step upto the bathroom. The elevators are not big enough to hold a standard wheelchair, the one good thing I have to say was the older gentleman who worked the night shift assisted me at 445 am. Do not recommend at all."

"It is a very nice property and I would normally highly recommend it. However, it is very odd. We had a two-bedroom suite, and there is no door or privacy around the main en-suite toilet. I was told that it was a Swedish design. Well, that is fine for Sweden, not for N. America. I certainly would not have booked it! If they are so proud of it, why don't they announce it or warn guests? Show some pictures of the toilet out in the open, lol. Really shows ignorance. After looking at reviews we certainly found lots of comments like ours. Suggestion..... take some money and invest in some privacy. We would never stay here again or suggest it to anyone. Such a shame as it is such a nice property."

"Great front desk people. I had special instructions for my elderly mom to check in and they were prepared when she arrived. Thank you! The room was very clean and organized. I liked that the remote was sealed in a bag. All appliances were clean and coffee machine well stocked. I like the composting cups available in the room and in the breakfast area. The breakfast nook was well stocked with lots of fresh options for breakfast. I really liked the coffee. "
