"Our goal for our trip to Japan was to hike Mount Fuji, but one of the unexpected highlights was our stay at the Kappo Ryokan Uoichi! Post-hike, we moved from Tokyo to Osaka with a stop at the Ryokan in Shimada. Two families (eight of us) stayed at Kappo Ryokan Uoichi and had a wonderful time. The building is a 150-year-old restaurant, and the stay included a shared bedroom with eight futon beds, an adjacent family room, a private bathroom, and a shared onsen. "今回、大井川鉄道のイベントに参加しました。新金谷駅からとても近く、今回はビール列車参加後とても快適に過ごすことができました。遠方から車で来られる人におすすめです。宿泊先の隣にはゆい商会というカフェがあり、そこのハンバーガーがとても美味しかったです。次の日は夢の吊り橋や奥大井湖上駅、道の駅　川根温泉を観光ができ、充実した旅行になりました。"

"Absolutely beautiful house, plenty of space with a beautiful garden and large kitchen. I loved the smell of the aged wood, very cozy and even has an air conditioner. The owners are very nice, they speak good English and make you feel welcomed. They have two adorable and friendly cats that will come visit you. I highly suggest this house, you won’t be disappointed. "
