Top Senko-no-ie Hotel Reviews
Yamanaka Onsen KAJIKASO
10/10 Excellent
"Great place"
Kissho Yamanaka
8/10 Good
"Amazing onsen facilities. They have both private and public bath. Guests can reserve one private bath per night and use public bath unlimited. Their lady public bath has an indoor one and a semi-open one - do try the semi-open one! Lots of fresh air and you can hear the sounds of insects and river. Both breakfast and dinner were wonderful. And make sure to attend the performance at the lobby at night (8:45 pm during our stay). The traditional artist sang a few local traditional folk songs with shamisen. Very peaceful and pleasant experience"
Yamanaka Onsen Shirasagiyu Tawaraya

"Delightful hotel, not easy to find though, just know its along the river! Very old fashioned but superbly maintained and its part of the charm. Onsen was fabulous, staff were all ultra accommodating. Organised a massage in my room, incredible. Shout out to Yoko, who looked after me at mealtimes, shes a star!"

Miyakowasure no Yado Korogiro
10/10 Excellent
"Our room was spacious and very clean. The private onsen was large and very comfortable, looking out over the river but completely private. We had the kaiseki dinner each night which was elaborate and delicious. The town of Yamanaka is very pretty with fun row of shops specialising in lacquer wear and pottery, some cafes, the usual restaurants and a big public men's and women's bath, along with a beautiful walk in the gorge along the river. All of this is within 5-15 minutes walk of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and even helped us send a suitcase forward to our next hotel using Yamato transport. Multiple staff members spoke only some English, which made my rudimentary Japanese quite useful. However, all the staff are so keen and helpful that even if you speak no Japanese with Google translate and some time it would be fine. "
Comfort Inn Fukui

"A nice stop over while road tripping from Kyoto to Shirakawa. Very friendly staff, good stores within a few blocks to stock up on amenities."
