Learn more about Scots Bay

Dramatic red cliffs meet the Bay of Fundy's highest tides at this tiny fishing village with excellent kayaking opportunities. Ask locals about the best times to explore Cape Split's hiking trails or hunt for amethysts along the rocky shoreline.

This is the view overlooking the Bay of Fundy from the tip of Cape Split, Nova Scotia. A nice 13 kilometers return hike to the end of the cape. The trail is well maintained, but watch the weather as it can be sunny at the trail head and then be foggy at the end. There are some trails down the cliffs to the coastline as well, but be very aware of the tides as many people have been stranded due to the fast tides.
