"Immaculately kept residence in a very good area with excellent transport links into Funchal centre. Very friendly and helpful staff and the rooms are very comfortable, spacious and have great views. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and delicious and the waiting staff were helpful and pleasant and the main pool and pool areas were spacious with plenty of sun beds available. Very enjoyable stay and we would love to return one day in the near future."

"Hugo was an excellent host. Nothing was too much trouble. Our cleaning lady, Natalie, was warm, welcoming, thorough and very accommodating. Fully equipped apartment with everything you could possibly need already anticipated. The sun terrace was an added bonus especially when the coloured fairy lights automatically switched on at night! If you want comprehensive UK TV maybe bring a laptop to connect as channels were limited."

No decaff tea - go next door to the cliff after dinner for that. VidaMar suited us as a great base (we didn’t rent a car), we used bus or booked trips. The ‘west’ jeep discovery tour is a must. Plus all the other go-to places. Walk to Camera de Lobos and get the bus back. Madeira exceeded our expectations. "

The “visible”areas were clean but there was significant dust and debris under the kitchen cabinets, behind doors etc. It’s timely for some things to be replaced as their wear and age are quite evident. The host was responsive and pleasant to work with for issues we encountered."
