Loved that this property is making a comeback; certainly dated property and has a ways to go. Nestled among the coastal pine trees is a huge advantage for them!

The staff was very friendly and accomidating. Nice little store, diner, and bar, with a pool table and shuffle board but unfortunatly closed on mondays. Private patio and large room. Would definitely return.

There was a wedding here when we arrived. Staff went out of their way to put us in ad quiet a room as possible. It was remarkably quiet give the size of the wedding event. The room was very clean and nice. Very consistent with pictures advertised. Overall, we were very satisfied and would rate this stay as a great value.

This lodge is in a beautiful setting! It has a very interesting historic bar and resort adjacent. The bar is open for limited hours on the weekends and often has live music. Photos of the resort in its heyday are in the lobby. It’s very close to two small mountain towns with lots of restaurants and hiking. We stayed for three enjoyable nights.

Don't let the outside fool you, although it looks a little run down the rooms are nice and very spacious. Get the room with a balcony and you can enjoy some fresh air without worrying about anyone looking in your room :)

Beautiful setting and clean and comfortable if starkly furnished room. It was missing some basic amenities that have become standard in the industry like a coffee maker and guide to close by dining options.

The room was new, clean and fresh. Large and size. The staff was wonderful. It looks like the property is undergoing some renovation on the outside, but overall did not interfere with her stay. Property is located on a busy road so you do hear a lot of road noises. It was conveniently located to the places we wanted to go.

This is definitely a quaint option but so cute for the area and rooms were very clean. Front desk staff were very kind and helpful. Walls were thin and could hear neighbors walking around very easily but to be expected in an old building. Would stay here again.

A Diamond in the Ruff

I took my wife there for her Birthday. We needed to find a nice place away from the hectic city and crowds from our visit to the Boardwalk. We stayed 2 nights and this place did not disappoint. It has a little cafe, a store and a nice bar that has live bands on Friday and Saturday. We were greeted by the Hotel front desk person with big smiles and friendly personality. He recommended several places to eat and reviewed a map of the area for us. He also invited us to eat at the cafe which also delvers to the Bar on premise. This place is a Diamond in the ruff..

Wonderful quiet historic setting. Short drive to some unique restaurants. Reasonably priced. Nice patio or balcony. $50 a day extra for a small quiet dog is a bit steep but still a fair price. Close to Santa Cruz and San Jose by car in the Redwood forest...heavenly!

I booked this lodge to be off the beaten path and quiet and it was cool. There is a store and bar on property (bar on weekends only). The room was clean and comfortable. It had a little balcony that was nice to sit and relax on. The hotel was only a 15 minute drive into Santa Cruz. The staff was friendly and helpful.
