Hotel is beautiful and the staff was so wonderful! Our hotel room was a decent size and beds were comfortable. Great bar, great restaurant food options. The hotel has a relationship with Marriott courtyard in isla verde so we took advantage of that and went to the beach there. It was beautiful and we had access to the lounge chairs, umbrellas and towels. Would definitely stay here again!

The room service from Níspero, the hotels home restaurant is terrible. White toast with bruschetta, rotten avocado with tuna tartare, bread with burger was stale, no cutlery provided.

Great location in Old San Juan. Stayed here for a wedding in the Hotel. Reception there was fantastic! The Hotel was an old Nuns Convent restored to a Hotel with its original vibe and the area surrounding it still has the original vibe of and older Puerto Rico. It has 5 stars but don’t expect a US version but a quaint and comfortable older rendition of the past with modern comfort.

Hotel El Convento is centrally located in Old San Juan. Staying here is a wonderful option if you like history and amenities combination.

This is a beautiful property in a great location. Efforts are made to keep street noise down. Staff is friendly. Building is beautiful. Our room was a bit plain, but it was comfortable and well maintained.

The hotel is nice and staff is welcoming and helpful. We had a family room which is two a joining rooms. They had high ceilings, luxury linens, each room had its own bathroom—very nice. Oh, they even provide a nice hair straightener! Which is nice when you’re from the US. So you don’t have to have a converter. The only thing I didn’t realize when booking was that the street the hotel is on doesn’t allow cars so you have to be dropped off around the corner. But we saw when we got here that it isn’t really a big deal. We also got breakfast with our room and this location was perfect for walking to many sights and for great restaurants.

Super friendly and attentive staff. Beautiful historic hotel with open courtyard / standard room was pretty basic inside but comfortable. Perfect location in OSJ for walking to restaurants, attractions, etc. Wine and cheese every day at 5! Would definitely return.

Small issue at check-in but staff was able to fix quickly. Very convenient location and great onsite restaurants that can cater to any food preferences. Valet attendants were very helpful with directions, recommendations and hailing taxis for us. Room was charming and very nice. Bathroom could be bigger but that’s a personal preference and wasn’t a deal breaker. Beds were comfy and fans on the ceiling were quiet and great. Overall very happy and will stay there again.

Great property. Pool was too small and few shaded mats with one umbrella broken so hard to sit out on lounges without a sun shade. Towels for pool plentiful. Slow service for breakfast waiter never came over even after asking so we ate elsewhere. On the whole I would stay again as I loved cleanliness kind staff ambience and safety of hotel(you needed key to get to room floors on elevator). Also a nice vibe lots of weddings are held hear and next to lots of shops and restaurants. Nice touch that wine and chees complimentary daily.

We loved staying at this hotel, it’s a beauty old convent and is right in the heart of old San Juan. We paid an extra $75 a night to upgrade to a suite as the queen beds were v small. Definitely worth pre-booking dinner in San Juan as many restaurants were fully booked. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we would definitely return

Lovely setting. Modernized rooms with period common spaces. Nice sitting areas on 3rd floor and beautiful patio bar and restaurant. Excellent staff, though the dining room is slow on weekends.

We were happy with our stay at El Convento. Our room was clean, and the beds were very comfortable. There was a wedding, but we did not hear any noise at all. Location is perfect, central to Old San Juan. If you want to explore on foot, this is the place to stay. Our only issue was that we had to park about three blocks away, but it was definitely worth the trouble. Loved the wine/cheese reception. Great restaurants nearby

I loved the history connected with the building. Loved the look of the place ( although the rooms are more modern than pictured in the older pre hurricaine photos) - I loved how close it was to walk to all the major old san juan sites... I would have liked a microwave in room or at end of hall or coffee area; the bathroom could have been a bit larger ( shower was nice but very narrow!) and a continental bkfst would have been better than the wine and cheese evening thing for us, because we never got back in time to be there between 5 and 6; however bagels or pastries and tea and coffee in the morning would have been wonderful!!! We really did enjoy our stay at el convento and would come back if we can afford it again some day.For us it was a splurge for my 60th birthday trip . They gave us a bottle of wine in the room when we checked in ( but no bottle opener for the cork --- my husband whittled it out with his pen!!!) PS the pool was nice too although sometimes in the evening there were no towels. One night is was closed during rain. The property is beautiful and historic. Could see the bay from our room. I loved old San Juan.
