The hotel staff was marvelous in it's professionalism, attention, and courtesy. The hotel was adequately clean although in need of paint. My room was very good, clean, and comfortable. The hotel is close to attractions and is easy to access by walking and public transportation.

It was a nice and pleasant stay overall for the 5 nights that I was there for SDCC. The location is convenient and close enough to food places and transportation. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay, especially when checking in, but there’s a strong exception for whoever was working at reception on Mon 27 July at 4:30pm. He was very rude, unhelpful and dismissive. I would have considered staying again but because of his behaviour, I’ll look elsewhere in the future

This property is in a nice, centralized location with easy walking access to restaurants and the waterfront. The place is also cheap in comparison to most other options, which is a huge bonus. I was also checked in by the manager and he was really great and nice with helpful tips on places to eat. Now the not so great: 1) The room smelled like cigarette smoke and the smoke alarm had been ripped off the wall. 2) No A/C, so had to keep the window open, which made it really loud (and hot) trying to sleep. 3) The shower didn't drain and I was standing in a pool of clogged water with rust chunks floating around. 4) The surfaces in the room had crumbs and the whole room, itself, did not feel clean. 5) The sink didn't drain because there was chunks of tissue paper stuffed down it. The place, in general, felt pretty run-down. But what can you expect for $90/night, I guess? I will say, that the linens did feel clean. So even if the room didn't feel really clean, I felt confident that my sheets and towels were, which is the biggest deal to me.

David, Shena, Alex, and the rest of the staff are outstanding. Their professionalism, friendliness, and customer service made my stay a positive experience. My only concern is the condition of the property itself. Motel 6 corporate should invest in updating and maintaining the hotel, as the carpets and walls are noticeably worn. The staff works hard to provide a great guest experience, and the property’s condition does not reflect the quality of service they deliver. With some renovations and upkeep, this location could be exceptional.

I needed a last minute room and this was an affordable location. You do get what you pay for. The AC was going out and back on through the 2 days I was there but it worked out for me bc I wasn’t constantly there just showering, sleeping, getting dressed and brought my owner cooler to keep my drinks and snacks cold. The ice machines were out, hallway carpets are stained & super dirty, elevator worked fine. Room doesn’t look like the photos at all but it was decently cleaned, stocked with towels, toilet paper, hand soap, & the tv had good stations. The shower works fine but the hot water made a ringing noise; I didn’t mind I just put music on. Parking costs $20 per night charged to the card but since the AC was out they gave free parking as a compensation but only had 19 spots to give bc half the lot belongs to a neighboring apartment building & it was mentioned you could get towed. When I got back there was no parking so I parked on the street which, you have to move your car or pay money by 8am if parking on the street. A bit of soliciting outside by homeless but everyone minded their business as well as inside the building no one really causing issues just everyone minding their business. Check out and check in was quick.

Motel 6 in San Diego was a really good value. It was less than half of the cost of the better hotels in the area. The room was acceptable and clean. But the common areas (hallways, trash cans, parking lot) are dirty. And the area attracts a lot of homeless people. It was good enough to stay in, but lacks a sense of comfort. I'm grateful for the low price.

Honestly for the price, it's what you expect. Homeless people around the building and parking lot. Smells like smoke, even in our non-smoking room. Staff was nice and friendly, made check-in and check-out easy..as it was in the same 10 minutes. Solid stay for the price if that's what you're looking for.

Room is just simple but clean (I'm 317) Just 2 bar of soaps, no shampoo, conditioner or lotion. No hair dryer. There's a TV though :) Hallways a bit old and dirty (carpet). Free coffee in the morning at the reception. But just get your coffee outside. There's a laundry area, washers and dryers, vending machine next to it. And a microwave. I suggest to buy your water from a supermarket. Staff are friendly. You get what you pay. Location is good.
