The best area to stay in Saleres is the village itself, particularly around its central plaza and the streets leading off it.

Saleres is a small, traditional village located in the Lecrín Valley, characterised by its whitewashed houses, narrow, winding streets, and a relaxed pace of life. The village is built into the hillside, offering lovely views of the surrounding countryside and the distant Sierra Nevada mountains. The central plaza, usually marked by a church or a small fountain, is the heart of village life.

This area is ideal for couples seeking a peaceful escape. You'll find charming guesthouses and a few self-catering villas, often with terraces superb for enjoying the warm evenings. It's a wonderful base for exploring the valley, with hiking trails accessible directly from the village and opportunities for outdoor activities like cycling.

For those looking for a bit more seclusion and perhaps a larger property, the outskirts of Saleres, still within easy walking distance of the village centre, offer private villas with pools and more extensive gardens.

The best time to visit Saleres is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months when the weather is most pleasant for outdoor activities.

Spring in Saleres brings warm, sunny days, with average temperatures ranging from 18°C to 25°C. This is an excellent time for those who enjoy hiking or exploring the natural beauty of the Lecrín Valley, as the countryside is lush and green, and the orange groves are in bloom. It's also a great period for couples looking for a romantic getaway, with plenty of opportunities for scenic drives and al-fresco dining.

Autumn offers similarly agreeable weather, with temperatures typically between 20°C and 28°C. This season is great for travellers interested in local culture and gastronomy, as it often coincides with local harvest festivals. The countryside takes on beautiful autumnal colours, making it ideal for photography and leisurely walks. Families might find this period particularly appealing for exploring the area without the intense heat of summer, with pleasant conditions for visiting local villages and farms.

While summer (July and August) is hot, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, it's suitable for those who wish to spend their days by a pool or exploring the nearby coast.
