Great place to stay!
Mary and Ivan were great hosts! They were able to answer any questions that I had. They even provided a map for us to walk over to Mayo for my husbands appointments. It was a very short and flat walk which was very nice with the stroller. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who is needing to stay in town for Mayo or just needs a get away!

This property was comfortable. It was beautifully decorated but you felt like you were coming home at the end of the day. The kitchen had everything you need to cook breakfast, including Olive Oil so I could scramble my eggs. The neighborhood was friendly. I will definitely stay here again. Dawnita Gallo

Perfect Cottage Getaway

My Stay at Century Cottage Rochester MN
My daughter and I stayed here while I had 2 full days of appointments and testing at the Mayo Clinic. It’s a beautiful and cozy house. It’s immaculate and has everything you need for your stay. The host Mary is very nice and attentive. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Rochester MN.

Spring Break Retreat
We enjoyed our stay in Rochester, visiting extended family over spring break. The house was clean and pleasant and communication with the hosts was helpful and prompt. I can tell they've put a lot of thought into their property from the perspective of their guests, from the items available in the kitchen to the helpful info provided in the guidebook. The Internet connection was fast enough for Dad to connect to some important work meetings. Overall a great stay and we plan to come back!

Amazing
This place was awesome me and my friends used this as our spring break getaway and it didn’t disappoint. Mary was great at communicating with us and left an awesome guide book in the kitchen to help us with finding stuff to do. Rochester was a beautiful town and a great place to get away from our normal lives and just have a weekend of relaxing!

Just like home
Coming to Rochester for appointments at Mayo is never a fun experience. Being able to come back to the cottage at the end of the day made the trip that much easier. The house is very comfortable, and Mary has thought of everything down to the smallest of details to make that happen. If we ever come back to the area, we will definitely looking here as the first option for a place to stay!

Amazing stay
My sisters and I stayed here and it was absolutely wonderful. The cottage is precious and Mary provides so many “extras” - shampoo, toothbrushes, etc. I had to come for treatment at Mayo but, despite our reason for being there, it was a fabulous trip! Mary was so patient and responsive. We changed our trip dates twice and she was very helpful both times. Her response time to every message was pretty much immediate and her warmth is present in every nook and cranny of her home. I highly recommend her home.

Comfortable, cozy, clean, and convenient!
We stayed about 10 days at The Cottage for our Mayo Rochester visit. The house is cute and cozy, clean, and has home-like additions like throw blankets, games, comfy sofas and pillows, a compost bin, ice/cooler packs, a few fridge bonuses, and local honey with coffee beans (and different methods to make coffee several ways). Mary and Ivan are very generous and allow walking through their beautiful backyard garden, greeting the chickens, and picking off a few veggies for a meal. We enjoyed the side patio as a nice space to wind down, cool off under shade, sipping wine/beer and enjoying the cool breeze through the arbor. The location is super convenient to all the places we needed/wanted to go to and we loved the diversity of restaurants/cuisines within walking distance. We attended a local Greek festival while we were there and the community was friendly and welcoming, not to mention the food was so amazing! While the street was a block from the main drag, it was rather quiet and felt safe both for walking at night and parking the car in front of the house at the curb. The only cons we found was the bed upstairs...it wasn't ideal for our backs, but that's a personal preference and there are 2 other beds to choose from. Also, the stairs are a bit steep...there is a railing, but it takes some more concentration going down them than up them. Overall, a great place to stay if visiting Rochester!

What a lovely 3 bedroom close to downtown and Silver Lake. It was perfect for our family. Grab a cup at Moka before your morning run along the river trail. Close to everything but still quiet. Will definitely look to stay again.

Mayo Clinic refuge
We were in Rochester for a medical work up, and this property was really a refuge for us. It is located out of the bustle of the Mayo Clinic world. We appreciated the quiet neighborhood, the proximity to Silver Lake and the river walking trails, grocery stores, and the cozy atmosphere of the cottage. From the comfy beds to the well stocked kitchen to the walk-in shower to all the little fun surprises left for us by the hosts, the Tomato Cottage was the perfect place for us. The location of this house was excellent as was the home. Mary had absolutely everything one would need to cook a family meal with. It was very clean and cozy. The upstairs bedroom is very large and cozy too. She has a vegetable garden that you’re welcome to pick from, and it absolutely amazing. I would definitely rent this house again.

Cozy Cottage near Mayo
The Cottage was the perfect location for our visit to Mayo clinic with my teen son. We were within a mile of Mayo's downtown campus, and the homeowners thought of so many touches to help us feel at home away from home. There is a well-equipped kitchen for preparing meals at home, multiple bedrooms, a sit-down dining area, and cozy recliner for naps after long days of medical appointments. Mary and Ivan are right next door and are thoughtful, welcoming, and prompt with any questions we had during our stay. We will seek out this property again should we need to return to Mayo Clinic. Perfect location
This little cottage is perfect in every way! First, it’s immaculately clean. Second, it’s nicely located about a mile from Mayo Clinic--an easy walk on a nice day (fi you’re not too sick!). Thirdly, Mary, your host has equipped the house so well that there is nothing you will want that you can’t find. Communication was terrific throughout our stay. I hope we never have to come back to Mayo, but if we do, here’s where we’ll stay.

Wonderful relaxing home
This truly feels like a home away from home. The owner has thought of everything that would make you more comfortable: great supplies of kitchen items for cooking, information about the area and suggestions about restaurants, modern thermostat that makes it easy to control temperature of home, a patio with comfortable chairs and table, great TV options, and I could go on. I have stayed in many VRBO homes over the past 12 years at least, and this is one of my favorites. I love all the walks and bike riding you can do on trails just a few minutes from the house.

A Quiet, Cozy Get-Away!
We were in Rochester just for a get-away from the business of the Twin Cities and we had such a quiet and cozy time here. This home provided all the amenities we needed. My wife especially enjoyed the large, spacious kitchen area with a foldable stool-table and all the cooking utensils and complimentary pantry items she needed to cook every meal we needed! We loved the care that our VRBO hosts put into this home where we spent the week at! From the cozy living room, to the work desks they provided, the holiday decors and bed sheets, the natural shampoos and the bar soap gifts! It really took us away from the noisiness of the big city and into a very humble home and neighborhood. We really appreciated it! Although we loved it here, some small safety concerns for our 1 year old. We just had to make small adjustments. We brought our baby gates to help her from falling off the small ledge going from the dining room to the kitchen. Also, we used the kitchen table to help block the entrance to the upstairs bedroom so she wouldn't climb up and fall down. Another thing is that the home is an older home. We are probably guessing it was made in the early 1910s, so with older homes, comes less insulated and the air quality inside the home is dense (if you're used to the city-living where our homes have air purifiers, the air here can be a little dense, so opening up the window for a while can be good). But the home had great air ventilation though! Anyways, heating varied from each room to room. For example, it can be very cold on the 1st level living room and warm on the 2nd level or warm in the bathroom and cold in the kitchen. Also, For us, we like the feel of older homes as it takes us back in time where we imagine how life could have been! Otherwise, we enjoyed our humble, quiet, and relaxing stay here at the cottage! We are grateful for this experience and would recommend it for families if you want to enjoy a home that is not too "old fashioned" and yet not too modern. It is the perfect get-away.

This wonderful house made our visit to Mayo so much easier. Every little touch has been thought of in this very special place and it is so close to absolutely everything you need in Rochester. We are so pleased with our stay and recommend it 100%.

We truly enjoyed hosting Johnna and Rob. They were great guests right from the start with communication, treating our home as if it were their home, so pleasant to work with and leaving the cottage very clean and tidy. We would welcome them back anytime!

Wonderful Home and Hosts!
This charming cottage was a perfect choice for my 3 day stay in Rochester. Comfortably furnished, well-equipped kitchen, thoughtful amenities such as snacks and fancy soap, and decor that makes it truly a home away from home. It was even decorated for the holidays, inside and out! A wonderful place to come home to, in every sense! Highly recommend.

Perfect Place to Stay!
We loved everything about the house, the location, and the thoughtful amenities. Very comfortable and homey, kitchen was stocked with everything one would need for meal prep and cooking, best stocked kitchen of any place we have stayed (we have been renting homes for 8+ years). Thank you so much for understanding what makes a house a home, and then taking the time to provide that warm experience to guests starting at your property!

Lisa and her husband were wonderful guests! Right from the initial booking throughout their stay communication was great, the treated the cottage like their own home and left our property very neat and tidy. For us It is guests like this that make this so much more than a "job".

Just Like Home
Everything was great! It has a living room large enough to spread out yet be together. The desk worked great to set up the laptop. The kitchen had all you could need. We enjoyed having the bonus bedroom for more space to spread out. The upstairs was perfect for my husband to work remotely. They thought of it all, even had cozy socks. Mary made sure we knew we could reach out with any questions we might have, we even enjoyed a chat out front on one of the days. So nice to know that they were right next door. My in-laws couldn't have been more pleased to have a comfortable place to rest after going to the clinic. I would recommend to anyone. It is great!
