"the room was really nice had a beautiful layout. The outdoor shower was great. Small fridge and coffee making facilities. The pool was very nice and refreshing after a hot day in Samoa. The private beach across the road looked very inviting but I wasn’t there long enough to make use of it. Great to have filtered water available for Free. Dinner at the restaurant was really nice. Breakfast was adequate. I must have gotten free range eggs because the chickens are roaming freely around the property. I would have preferred not to be woken up by the rooster at 6 o’clock in the morning. The street noise in the morning was also quite loud and there was some sort of music playing with a heavy base.I usually order poached eggs it was nice to have them on the buffet.Like most places that I have been exposed to in Samoa the level of cleanliness is not exactly what I would expect especially of a high-end resort like this one. Nonetheless I enjoyed my stay and would return"

"Thin walls, not particularly sound proof. Room were clean as was pool and beach area but other grounds were a bit junky. Dinner at the outdoor restaurant was excellent"

"A good resort choice if you want to stay in downtown Apia, as opposed to the coastal hotels on the west and south coasts. Just remember there is no beach access at this resort, so you will have to make do with the quite nice pool and bar area! The location on Main Beach Road is a short walk to the limited attractions of downtown Apia, including a few restaurants and cafes, the fish and produce markets, Samoa Cultural Village and McDonalds! The rooms are spacious and reasonably clean, with good sized bathrooms, large screen TVs and basic facilities like bar fridge and tea & coffee. Food choices from the bar are limited, but tasty. Breakfast in the dining area was fine with a buffet style featuring the normal mix of western dishes and fresh fruits, drip coffee and juices. Unless you are using pre-booked tours (which the resort can organise), you will really need a car to maximise your stay in Samoa by visiting some of the beautiful beaches and waterfalls. Fortunately the resort has ample parking available. In summary, an older resort that is showing its age, but still offering a reasonable experience. Just don't expect the same 4 star facilities that you might be used to in the big city locations."

"I think I expected too much; it was definitely a great experience, but there is still a lot of work to do within the top floors of the hotel. The lifts weren't working to go directly to our floor, and I was with my 76-year-old mother, so we went the roundabout way and the shower wasn't accessible for her as it's still within the bathtub, which was too high for her to be able to climb in and out safely. Breakfast is definitely 10/10 with alot of options. Convenient location."

"The premises were clean and perfectly appointed to meet our every need. The gardens are beautiful and maintained. It was the perfect hideaway. Because the house is in the Samoan highlands it escapes the heat of Apia. And it’s isolated location it was the perfect location to just relax and unwind.The Kitchen is fully equipped with backup contingencies in the unlikely event of a power blackout.Tim and Maria are wonderful and welcoming hosts and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable.The balcony was the perfect location for a morning cup of tea or coffee or just listening to the birds. But it does get hot through the day. We loved our stay and when we plan our next trip to Samoa, the Samoan Highland Hideaway will be at the top of our list for accommodation"
