Top Hotels Near Riverside Park in New York from NZ$180

"This is a safe, cost-friendly option for the Upper West Side. We took the Park and Ride from Secaucus to Penn Station and then the 1 train to 96th Street to come out near the entrance. Really easy. This is a no-frills kind of place. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. Fixtures looked like they were straight out of the Ikea catalog. TV worked fine. We were not in NYC to spend much time at the hotel. Central Park is a hop, skip, and a jump away. Plenty of places to eat and grab a slice. We felt safe the whole time we were there. Parking is off site and getting the rate requires you to check in with the staff at the hotel first (we decided on the park and ride into the city, anyway, so it was a moot point for us). Advertised as 3:00 check-in, but we got there after about noon. Our room was not ready, but they did take our bags. We went out and grabbed lunch nearby, came back and we were in our room before 1:00. We wanted to see the Guggenheim and the Met and they were just opposite us on the other side of Central Park. Enjoyed the walk. Would definitely stay there again. "

"Upon our arrival our room was located on the noisy street side, the bathroom was very small, there was a shortage of towels. Housekeeping was great and provided a made up room every day with an abundance of amenities. The location is perfect for walking to the Metropolitan Opera in Lincoln Center and Columbus Circle. Our first night there was an event in Lincoln Center with super loud noise till after 11:30 pm. We stay at the Empire every year and we will request a quiet suite. I realize the noise is not your fault. "

"The sleep pods are nice and provide a comfortable sleep environment. The bathrooms are clean and the showers as well. Nice place to stay on a budget in NYC. There is plenty of places near by to get food. And it’s right off Central Park which is convenient. The Subway is only a short walk and easy to get to. "

"When we checked in we were given an upgrade which turned out to be a down grade, and the bathroom bath tissue holder was loose from the wall, and the electric outlet did not work. Staff was friendly and helpful after the initial disappointments. "
