"This guest is a really lovely place to stay, 20 minute walk from Wavery train station, plenty of places to eat 5-10 mins walk away. The building itself is stunning and the continental breakfast is a bonus we weren’t expecting!"

"We loved staying in this hotel. Everything was new, clean, beds were very comfortable. Area was amazing, lots of food options, one block from the train. Would absolutely stay there again"
"We were obsessed with this hotel. It was so pretty and eclectic inside, great art and decor in the rooms. Staff was so nice and the breakfast was to die for. We did a very impromptu whisky tasting and learned a lot- it was better than the whisky tour we did earlier in the week. We were sad to go and can’t wait to visit again! "
"I couldn’t believe how beautiful this property is and the attention to detail was impeccable. Even the lounge area with cappuccino, latte, pastries, etc. were a pleasant surprise. It’s in the perfect location too, we walked everywhere without any problems."

10/10 Excellent
"Great location in Leith, short walk to the tram stop. Quiet spot but with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Hotel bar is nice. Our room had really comfy beds, good blackout curtains. Plenty of storage and well kitted out. Towels big and pillows particularly soft and lovely. Good quality bed linen. Nice to be able to have buffet breakfast and have cooked food done to order. Staff in all areas of the hotel really pleasant and helpful. Only minor signs of age, some chipped furniture pieces in the room. Lots of USB points, but not USB C. One did not work but I only found out later in the day, so if you use the charger points, check before you leave."
"Nothing a problem to excellent staff. Small issue with air con quickly resolved . Rooms food fantastic making for a memorable stay . Will definitely return for another visit."
"First of all, it was not apparent to us when we made a reservation that THIS IS A BOAT! Since we're avid boaters we were delighted to learn that our hotel was floating. This is a charming hotel and the staff were especially friendly. Our only issues were that the breakfast room is quite small and we had a hard time finding a place to sit. Also, since it is a boat our bathroom floor was quite sloped and we had concerns about slipping on the tiled floor, which was very slick. "
"It was easy to get to this property via the tram after getting off our train from the train station. If you are arriving by plane, you can also easily access the tram to this property too. The proximity to a tram stop makes this property a standout.
When we arrived, we were greeted by Edna and her son Craig. They were both really friendly and gave us a lot advice of where to eat and what to do. We managed to go to one of Craig’s many recommendations - Fishwater for fish and chips, which was located a couple of tram stops away. The price was so reasonable and the large fish and chips order was so huge that my daughter and I ended up sharing it. It was really fantastic!
Pillars House offers a continental breakfast of wrapped granola bars and wrapped jam filled croissants to enjoy in the room. They also supply you with tasty cookies to enjoy with the generous tea/coffee/hot chocolate supplies in the room. In addition, guests have access to the kitchen at all times, where there are generous supplies of assorted fruit ie apples, oranges, grapes, plums and bananas and generous supply of wrapped large muffins to supplement your breakfast or to grab as snacks throughout the day. We were impressed with the daily cleaning and refreshing of our rooms. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the room was really quiet. We never heard our neighbours in the rooms on either side of our room for our entire 3 night stay. We highly recommend Pillars!"
