Our family had a wonderful time at the lodge. The pictures don't do the location justice - the house is on a large lot along the river. We spent most of the time on the property relaxing, spotting wildlife, making fires, and enjoying the hottub. We have been here before in the summer, and the kids love swimming and boating in the river - unfortunately it was too high this time around due to the recent rains. We also visited the caverns, got some great food in Luray, and hiked the Rose River Falls train on skyline drive. Highly recommend - we will be coming back!
The location of this home is the BEST! River views from the hot tub and hammock make it the perfect place for relaxing. I stayed two nights mid week and enjoyed juvenile bald eagles, great blue heron and wood ducks as the followed the river. There's a great fire pit area on the river also, as well as kayaks. Accommodations were comfortable and the host was responsive and helpful. I was glad I didn't meet any other vehicles on the dirt road to access the property, but the few minutes of holding my breath were well worth the gorgeous views. I especially appreciated the hard work they have done to save the trees lining the river from invasive English ivy, and the native plantings to enhance the outdoor spaces.
It’s a lovely home in a beautiful location. Advertised as a 2 bedroom 2 bath. But second bedroom had no A/C and was hot so other couple slept on pull out couch. Also 2nd bathroom had NO hot water & the sink did not work. Also 1/2 the jets in hot tub did not work but that was fixed by maintenance the next day. Expected more for the cost. Great location though.
Great property, cozy stay. There are other units nearby, but we still absolutely felt like we were alone here, and at the firepit. Access to the river is perfect...and you have that area to yourself. Would absolutely stay here again.
This venue is superb and well worth it. There were some issue in the initial check in process but overall I highly recommend this as a location. While comfortable, keep in mind you’re out far from civilization so WiFi will be your only connectivity. Bring wood for the fire pit.
The cabin is cozy and secluded on the river. The outside had all the comforts including a fire pit, plenty of seating and a BBQ. The landscaping was beautiful. We enjoyed exploring during the day and relaxing the afternoons and evening outside.

River Vacation
Location was phenomenal. Property could have been cleaner.Host was highly communicative. We would for sure stay at this location again!
Beautiful riverside property. Inside of house is quaint. It took a while to get the place heated but then everything else worked. The fire pit and outdoor area was nice. The primary shower and bathroom sink have pretty low water pressure but the other bathroom and shower are fine. The hot tub could have been cleaner so I didn’t give it a full 5. Otherwise, cute place and great for families or couples.
We were stunned by the beauty of the property!Wildlife abundant, eagles, osprey, coyote herons king fishers and more the river was too swift for paddle boards but great for swimming and fishingWe only went in the cabin to sleep and shower the kitchen has all the plates and pans needed to cookThe owner is amazing at responding to questions very quickly and is pleasant and very helpfulIf you come here, I promise you will not regret it. It was just what we needed to laugh and have fun and catch lots and lots of fish.
Start a fire by the water and plan on only needing the house to sleep. This is a picture perfect setting with tons of wildlife to sit back and enjoy. We absolutely loved it. There are other STR sites within eyesight so if all are booked it could be a little less secluded but when we visited, there were only 2 other sites rented and it still felt very secluded.
We had a great time at the property. Property is very clean, well decorated, great amenities. Wi-Fi accessible, but no cellular service with Verizon. (Switch your phone to allow wifi calling so you can get text messages, etc..). Beautiful views. Well maintained landscaping, and peace and quiet. Hot tub was awesome addition! Would definitely book again.
This is a great spot to either hang out and relax or head to the mountains for a hike! The space is clean, cozy and has a usefully stocked kitchen. One bedroom is quite a bit bigger than the other, but it can still comfortable sleep 4 (could feasibly sleep more on the pullout couch, but it would be tight).
The location is amazing! The river and firepit are a lot closer to the house than it looks like in the photos and it's awesome. We had intended on hiking every day we were there, but the property was so inviting that we ended up spending a day just hanging out and enjoying the peace and quiet.

Review the pros/cons
The host was responsive and the check-in process was smooth. The amenities were great (hot tub, fire pit, proximity to hiking trails). However, there were several issues reported that went unresolved during our stay. We had mold in the master bedroom, one bathroom didn't have a working shower, and the other bathroom had a clogged sink. It was difficult to share to half the working bathrooms among 5 people and one person had to leave early due to mold/health issue.
