"My wife and I spent two nights at Monverde Wine Experience Hotel in October 2025 and it was a fantastic experience. The grounds are beautiful, and even though the harvest season had finished, the property was spectacular. They welcome you with a glass of sparkling wine which is a nice touch. The property is comprised of several original buildings all renovated. We selected a prestige room and had one other room in our hallway. The room was huge! It overlooked the vines with a nice wood deck to relax. The breakfast at the restaurant was fantastic!! (See photos) We didn't stay for dinner as we prefer to drive in to the towns so I can't comment on the dinner. The pool area is small but has enough seating for 20 or so guests. We weren't there for the pool (only heated by sun outside) but grabbed a few hours at the end of the day and visiting wineries. They have a nice bar. If you want a seat get there early. The location means the pool is always in the shade while we were there in October. Staff were fantastic. I reached out in advance for recommendations and they assisted. They even helped make a reservation for us in the town of Amarente. I would highly recommend this hotel for a couple days in the Vinho Verde Region. Only thing which could be improved upon, was the wine tasting experience we booked. There are 5 wines paired with small tastings. It had a short tour. Unlike tours at wineries, this was lacking and could have been better. Their wines are nice, but as a group"

"I was absolutely blown away by this hotel! I booked on Expedia and messaged the hotel directly, they were very responsive. I got an amazing, spacious room with great views of Bom Jesus de Monte. The rooms are spotless and the bedding is very comfortable. Breakfast was included, but it was extremely limited, so I stopped using it after day two. There’s no room service, but the restaurant attached to the hotel is lovely, with stunning views over Braga. The staff are very accommodating, and the spa area is clean and also offers beautiful views. All of this for quite an amazing price. I had very little expectation going in, but I was truly impressed! The only major downside was the air conditioning, despite setting it lower and lower (from 21°C down to 11°C), the room temperature stubbornly stayed at 25°C, which made it difficult to sleep."

"Unfortunately, when we arrived at the property, we got the information that it was overbooked and that they did not have a room available for us, I made the reservation 30 min. before arrival. The receptionist's approach to the issue was not very nice, no apology and that I should have checked my messages, so it was my fault that I went to the hotel to check-in (?!). He reallocated us to a sister property with a lower star rating (Hotel do Paço by Vima Hotels) nearby which by the way was not nice and not even close to what we originally booked. They were not very keen in helping with the invoicing procedure, I wanted to get the difference in rate refunded and while I had to contact Expedia (who were very helpful) our presence was just ignored in the reception without even a glass of water. The receptionist from the sister hotel wouldn't wait for us, she was very rude over the phone with her colleague and left leaving the key in a locker. Having to deal with this after a full day tiring trip was not really what we expected. Of course, overbookings can happen in every hotel, that is not the point, the point was the customer service this property provided and the friendliness which just did not exist."
