The best area to stay in Restrepo is generally in and around the town centre, or slightly outside the town for a more secluded, countryside experience.

For those who appreciate convenience and easy access to local amenities, staying within Restrepo town is ideal. You'll find the main square (Parque Principal) at its heart, surrounded by local shops, restaurants, and the church. This central location means you're never far from anything you might need, and it's easy to explore the town on foot. This area is particularly good for travellers who enjoy being close to local life and prefer a shorter walk to dining options.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape might prefer accommodations located just outside the town centre, in the surrounding countryside. Many properties here offer spacious grounds, often with views of the mountains or agricultural landscapes. These establishments typically feature amenities like swimming pools, private gardens, and sometimes even small farms, providing a relaxing retreat away from any hustle and bustle.

The best time to go to Restrepo is during the dry season, which runs from December to March and again from July to August. This period offers the most pleasant weather for exploring the region.

During these months, you'll experience less rainfall and more sunshine, making it ideal for outdoor activities such as visiting the numerous coffee plantations or enjoying the natural beauty of the surrounding Valle del Cauca. The roads are also generally in better condition, ensuring a smoother travel experience.

For those planning to explore the nearby natural parks or engage in hiking, the dry season is particularly beneficial. Trails are less muddy, and visibility for scenic views is typically clearer. This makes it a great time for couples or solo travellers looking for an active holiday.
