Rooms are a little dated but the property with the small lake and waterfowl provided an overall relaxing and peaceful experience. Would have loved to have gone out on a complimentary paddle boat but it was too late in the season.

The lake setting was beautiful. It was an older property, but updates were done nicely and was clean and comfortable. The location for access to the Black Hills points of interest was great.

The motel room we stayed in was dated and the bed was really uncomfortable, however, the sweet lady at the front desk was so apologetic and kind. Her friendly personality and help with this matter made it a positive experience and I would recommend them.

Nice cozy hotel.

Decent property by the Lake. Very spacious. Two miles from food and shopping. Close to airport. If you want to see Badlands, wind cave and Rushmore in the same trip

Cabins could use a little TLC (dripping faucets). No housekeeping service for the 3 night stay (towels with holes in them). Small pillows. Only 2 coffee discs for the entire weekend, Plus side -- well stocked fire pits and personal outdoor grills. Reunion building was great.

Quiet and clean.

Great place to stay if you don`t want to be in town. Very quiet and the rooms are larger than a normal hotel. Staff is always super to deal with and while it is an older resort it does he job really well.

Staying at Canyon Lake Resort during a trip in November met my needs exactly. The room was clean and quiet, and the staff were helpful and friendly. It is also a beautiful and unique location, situated within sight and walking distance of walking trails, the lake, and a park, all of which gave an added bonus of wildlife viewing opportunities! I would absolutely stay here again.

Canyon Lake Resort was a great place to stay while exploring the Rapid City area. Our cabin was well-equipped and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. It’s not elegant, but it worked for us, and the birds were an added bonus!

the a/c in the unit was too loud measuring 63 dB per my iphone dB meter. the carpet’s age made the apartment smell strange though it has been properly cleaned. i would have expected two bathrooms for a 365 dollar per day unit.

Beautiful setting-right next to Canyon Lake. Employees very friendly-good recommendations for restaurants-Piesano and Millstone Bed, shower, TV excellent No bath exhaust fan, but window can be opened No ice machine but problem could be solved with ice trays and defrosting refrigerator I'll stay there next time I go to Rapid

Pleasant setting

It's not the Waldorf Astoria but that wasn't the intent. If you're looking for a clean friendly stay in a beautifully walkable setting this is it. Apart from the somewhat dated accomodations (hey, it was a tad rustic but it evoked pleasant feelings of nostalgia for this 60-something boomer) I couldn't have asked for a quiter room nestled on the shore of a beautiful lake (well, reservoir) and park. Plus we had the added benefit of being there outside of the tourist season. I'll be back.
