"We just love coming to this property. This time we came for a wedding at the old fire house next to the lake so talk about convenience. Came early to enjoy the outdoor, was able to get dressy for the wedding and go to and from only a short distance. Full amenities so we can bring our own food. The owners leave firewood to use and on day 2 the dog and rain rolled in so we used it all! With another night in front of us, and to our surprise, the owners refilled our wood discreetly and messaged us...

"Such a lovely little spot. My wife and I chose to stay at the Hilltop Cabin after a few nights in Escondido. We wanted to get out of the city and closer to nature. The cabin and the area around it did not disappoint. The cabin was very comfortable and the host's garden was spectacular. We love birding and there were so many birds to watch from the balcony of the cabin! It was the perfect place sit and watch the evening take over the valley. Frog calls and two separate packs of coyotes howling....

"A location close to a family members ranch(10 minutes away) I enjoyed the very rustic look it has but the wife not so much, she was taken back by the shower tub stain. Miner thing. I totally enjoyed my stay there, Thanks so much………"

"We both enjoyed the Treehouse inside and out. The views were magnificent. Weather was great. It was neat to see the fog come down and sweep past us during the storm the last night there! It’s so quiet and peaceful. Everyone in town was marvelous and the town restaurants were delicious too! Our favorite part…the 91 steps up and down! LOL You do get used to them and keeps your weight down! Oh and also the enormous pine cones! We don’t have them that size here in Delaware! We would definitely stay...

"My boyfriend and I stayed here for our Anniversary weekend and this little cabin was perfect! Amazing views, picnic tables and hammock chairs out front, wood burning stove, full kitchen. We had to salvage our own kindling wood outside because there were only large logs inside. Would recommend this to my friends and would definitely stay here again!"

"My daughter and I spent a couple nights in this adorable cabin celebrating her earning her Masters Degree. Gail was so thoughtful to have graduation decorations out when we arrived along with a delicious carrot zucchini bread. We enjoyed horseback riding nearby, spending a day in Julian visiting tea and pie shops, exploring LaJolla, and surfing Tourmaline in San Diego. "Great little place, cute, fun location, clean and excellent value; this was our second visit - would come again ONLY IF high iron/Sulphur levels in water are resolved. Not pleasant using water that tastes like you have blood in your mouth and smells like rust ALL the time & Sulphur odor at times. This water problem has been an issue for some time with the cabins since there is a little sign about it and you can also see the rust stains on shower tile, ect. I appreciated the quick help /responses...

We enjoyed having a fire outside while sipping wine, laying on the hammock together, enjoying our morning coffee out on the deck while watching the birds and rest of nature wake up. "The property is as listed. More than enough room for a family of 5 with three smaller kids. Outdoor space is private and includes a fire pit. The kitchen has all the things you'd need to make meals in the cabin and there is a outdoor grill which we did not use. It's a block away from all of downtown Julian and very close to several solid country parks. We spent the majority of our time in Anza-Borrego State Park which is less than an hour away.
