The best area to stay in Ramada is the central part of the town, particularly around the main square and the streets immediately surrounding it.

This central area is the hub of Ramada, offering a pleasant and convenient base for visitors. You'll find a selection of local shops, traditional eateries, and the town's main church here. The general layout is quite compact, making it easy to explore on foot.

Couples looking for a relaxed and authentic experience will find this area particularly appealing. It's a great spot to enjoy local life, perhaps with an evening stroll followed by a meal at a local restaurant, without the hustle and bustle of larger cities.

For visitors interested in exploring the wider Porto District, staying in central Ramada offers good access to main routes.

The best time to go to Ramada is during the shoulder seasons of spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October), when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

Spring (April to May) offers mild temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 22°C. The countryside around Ramada is lush and green, and the city of Porto, just a short drive away, is vibrant with fewer tourists than in the peak summer months. This period is great for exploring the Douro Valley or enjoying outdoor activities without the summer heat.

Autumn (September to October) provides similarly comfortable temperatures, usually between 18°C and 25°C. The grape harvest season in the Douro Valley adds a unique cultural experience, with vineyards active and the landscapes displaying beautiful autumnal colours. This time of year is ideal for those who appreciate wine tasting tours and scenic drives.

While summer (June to August) brings the warmest weather, often exceeding 30°C, it also sees the largest crowds and higher prices.
