Querim Beach, locally known as Keri Beach, is a gorgeous beach in the quieter part of northern Goa. Enjoy this serene beach without the crowds and vendors common to other beaches in Goa. Explore the beach’s surrounding heritage areas find historic Goan dwellings, an ancient temple and an old fort on the picturesque waterfront.

Visit Querim Beach at sunrise to see the near-deserted shoreline in the warm glow of the sun’s rays. Wander along the beach’s stretch of soft sand and hop over the small rocky outcrops. Stroll down the 2-kilometre (1.2-mile) tree-lined beach, look out over the stunning shoreline and walk past a river inlet and a forest of fragrant pine trees. Take a dip in the waves before sunbathing on the warm sand.

Don’t miss the turquoise-and-white Ajoba Temple, situated on the beach. This temple is so old that the date of its establishment has been lost over the centuries. Admire the ancient Goan houses inland from the beach. Stop by the small beach shacks to find out about accommodation options here. Grab a bite to eat try a local curry with naan bread and take in the beach views.

Wander over to the Terekhol River, a scenic river that opens up into the ocean between a row of trees. Visit Querim village to find the Terekhol River Crossing, a passenger ferry that connects North Goa to the Sindhudurg District. Discover the 17th-century Terekhol Fort across the river. This historic fort has been restored and now holds a hotel featuring stunning Arabian Sea views.

Kerim Beach can be found in Goa’s northwestern region. The beach is 1.7 kilometres (1 mile) from the Maharashtra Border and is just north of Arambol Beach. Reach nearby Querim Beach on a bike or scooter via the picturesque trail that meanders past Sai Baba Temple and Ravalnath Temple, amongst other sightseeing destinations. Buses and taxis also reach this area from central Goa. Find the beach with the aid of small signs dotted along the walking track. Visit Querim Beach between October and June to avoid the monsoon season.
