We stayed there 7 nights. At 5:50a the fire alarm went off and stayed on for the building on 5/21/24. We were on 24th floor. I have had 4 back surgeries and a knee surgery so steps are very hard. After very quickly throwing on some clothes we walked down 24 floors to basement, exited, then walked around the building to the lobby. 1 fire truck was at the lobby and the firemen were walking around. Only saw 50 people; almost all USA, who took fire alarm seriously. I asked front desk clerk where all the people were; he said most called and did not come down. He said cause was smoking in the room and the person tried to disable alarm...smoking in rooms is a common event. After going back to room my wife and I discussed the water damage down the walls in the stair area, the torn walls and exposed piping in the stair wells, all the cables run through 1 door with it propped open, no exit/fire information in rooms, no sprinklers in room, staff not trained, and lacked urgency alarm sounds. Should this hotel ever have a real fire, it will be at a huge cost. My last stay at this property.

Beautiful location. Right on the Plains of Abraham. Beautiful views from most hotel rooms of the St-Lawrence River and historic buildings of Quebec City. Fast check-in, and friendly, helpful staff. Great pool with gorgeous views through big Bay window. Kids loved it. Hotel has one restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a wide variety of choices. Each room is equipped with small bar fridge and coffee maker making it extremely convenient for families. Location is close to everything, in particular Old Quebec and the historic Ramparts of the Plains of Abraham. Restaurants close by in Granada Allée, and Parliament buildings an 5 min walk down the street. Check out a breeze. Would definitely stay here again.

The working desk edges had worn off and had been repaired with duck tape painted white. The desk chair had no more suspension and the sides of it were worn from being pushed to the desk while too high to go under. The wood and leather were deteriorated on both sides. When you are required to work 8hrs at the desk and asked for a superior room, I was expecting more.

We didn't get the room I paid for. I purchase a king deluxe and eneded up with just a king bed. The bathtub was leaking. The floor had paint on it there was dust from sanding.

Not the best if you have a small child - I had a 6 month old and you would need to bring bedding, because your baby will definitely feel the metal bars. We had to have him sleep beside us due to this. There's also no "typical" hotel amenities like a kettle, they won't give you one. There's no hotel slippers, nor a robe but the location is great

The rooms were a bit rundown and dated, paint chipped in many places, the vinyl on the headboards was peeled down where the head would rub when sitting in the bed, but otherwise the room was comfortable, bed were comfy as well. However, the hotel, which seems to be a favorite for very young locals to come and hang out before and after they go dancing on Grande-Allée, was pretty loud in the evening and after bars close down (yelling in the hallways, rooms are not well soundproofed either). All in all, it was still a good choice as the pool was a very nice place to hang out, the location is key and there are great restaurants in the building. However, the convenience store was closed in the evenings and those around close quite early. The machines are ridiculously expensive, don't take cards but there is an ATM. However, the change for your 20 will be in quarters... Staff was nice though.

On the positive side: close to downtown, low price for the location ($156 $25 parking). On the downside: Very tired hotel and owners having hard time to keep up with maintenance of this old big hotel. Mold on the silicon on the bathtub, dirty ceilings. Light bulb in the bathroom wasn’t functional, called reception and they promised to fix it, never did. Floss from previous guest left behind on near the sink. Underground parking is separate story… Will not stay in this hotel again and won’t recommend to others.

Likes: Revolving restaurant on top of building was excellent. Food was delicious. Convenient location Staff were all very pleasant. Our room had a lovely view. Dislikes: rooms are older with renovations done poorly. Paint chips, rusted hinges, gaps in flooring, 2 inch threshold difference into and from room. Big tripping hazard. Shower/tub is old so tiles needs work, shower head not effective. Shower had dispensers labelled conditioner and hand soap. No shampoo. Headboards on beds are vinyl and old. Fabric chipped away on them with flakes falling on pillows when you rub up against them. Parking is an additional cost. I feel the cost was high for conditions of rooms. Disappointed with cost.

Unfortunately this was one of our worst stay in more than 40 years of travel. Not mainly because of the hotel itself, but because of a party of guests that were noisy and obnoxious. After a full day driving in rain and high winds, we were ready for a quiet evening, a hot bath and an early bedtime. We hit the sack at 9:30pm and were sound asleep at 11:30 when we got awakened by loud laughter, shouting, singing and doors banging right outside our door. This lasted for several minutes until the partygoers left. We managed to go back to sleep, only to be awakened again at 2:30 am when the partygoers came back to their rooms, visibly drunk and having a merry time singing, laughing and shouting. They continued inside their rooms, but we could still hear the noise because the doors in this hotel aren’t at all soundproofed. You can clearly hear someone speaking in a soft voice on the other side, so imagine a bunch of drunken guests having a singing contest. They finally quieted down around 3:15am and we got back to sleep. The next morning we again got pulled from our sleep by the cleaning staff doing their rounds. After breakfast we went down to the lobby to discuss the situation with the hotel manager. She was apologetic and offered to give us a $75 credit on our $340 room for that night. I argued that this was not satisfactory but she said flatly that the behaviour of guests is not her responsibility and $75 was all she could do. So we decided to shorten our stay and checked out.

The Hotel Concorde is a querky property that some will love and others will find not to their taste. This is an older hotel that has had some renovation but things like heating and ventilation are really old style. When was the last time you used an individual unit in your room to manage the heating or cooling? (Mine was the 70s) It must have been built before the building code required the installation of sprinkler systems for fire suppression as none were visible. The pool, spa and exercise area is wonderful, the restaurant is very good with really good staff and the location next to the Plains of Abraham and the National Museum of Fine Art is unmatched anywhere. We really love it. But the rooms are not what sells it. The parking garage is a nightmare and way too small for a twenty-six storey hotel. The handicapped parking on level one has been converted into valet parking sending people with mobility issues to another level down. The bathroom has been updated but the amenities are sparse. I haven't had to use a washcloth to plug the bathtub since my last trip to Cuba but this week, that was all I had at the Concorde. In terms of value for money, it is hard to do better in Quebec City but be prepared for a trip back in time when you enter your room. We plan to go back.

The room was ok the floor was water damaged on of the locks was broken there was really no actual lights Except for in the washroom and the closet one of the lamps was held together with self tapping screws but other than that the view was amazing as we were on the 20th floor but for a almost 200 dollar room a night would choose a different option even though everything was about a 15 minute walk away the room was clean and most the staff was nice
