"Very, very tiny hotel. I stayed in a triple room with my parents, and it was so small we could barely move around haha. Also, although they had lockers, only a few were available, so I had to rent two lockers for three small bags, which cost 20 euros."

"Hotel Rho was a great base for our city‑break trip. The location couldn’t have been better—right in the heart of everything, with easy access to bars, restaurants, and all the main sights. We stayed in a three‑person room, which was clean, comfortable, and perfectly suited for our needs since we were out exploring most of the day and night. It gave us exactly what we needed: a solid place to crash and recharge. The breakfast buffet was a really nice surprise and great value. Plenty of options, fresh food, and a relaxed setup that made it easy to fuel up before heading out again. Overall, Hotel Rho delivered exactly what we were looking for: a clean, well‑located, good‑value spot for a fun weekend in Amsterdam."

"The hotel is centrally located and reasonably priced but the property is immense, has no charm, and the service is spotty. I had to ask three times for an extra pillow before I finally got one on our last night. On the other hand, the information person was quite helpful. The room was fine but one light didn’t work well and the room seemed dark at night."

"We stayed at the hotel last year and had a wonderful, spacious room with canal view. This year, I booked a regular room and was disappointed as soon as I opened the curtain to a view of vents and walls. The pool and hottub were both out of order, which is disappointing when you boik a5-star hotel and really look forward to a spa day. The staff was very nice, and I would recommend the restaurant. The Amrath is very conveniently located, 2 blocks away from Centraal and 3 blocks from the Red Light District. I would stay here again but book a room with a canal view."

"The staff was friendly and the hotel cat is adorable. Unfortunately the boiler was broken and our room had no hot water. My family and I had cold showers during our 2 day/2 night stay. The options we were given were to have use of a room’s shower downstairs, or to move to another location. After lugging luggage up to the 3rd floor, after having lugged it down and up to get to luggage storage, that wasn’t palatable. Honestly, some sort of refund was in order but that wasn’t offered. On another note, I want to ensure individuals who have never been to the area know that where the hotel is located is very touristy, full of men, in particular, who are seemingly there to party and be raucous. The street felt like a bad carnival catered to those who are there for the red light district and weed. It was loud and dirty and an abomination of the Amsterdam one sees in pictures. If you want a more beautiful, calm, and relaxing experience, my recommendation is to go to the other side of Amsterdam and avoid the area where this hotel is."
