Mauna Kea Villa, Walking Distance to the Beach and Hotel - Beyond Perfection!

"We just got home from a trip to the Big Island and couldn't have been happier with this Villa. The location within the Mauna Kea resort was very convenient. It was a short walk up and down the walking path to the hotel and the beach (maybe 5-10 minutes). The Villa is just as beautiful as it is pictured in the listing. Everything was spotless when we got there and a very easy check in with the lockbox. Sarah was a wonderful host and most importantly very responsive to all messages. The kitchen has all you need to cook in if you wish. I highly recommend this Villa to anyone going to the Big Island and we hope to have the opportunity to go again. Thank you, Sarah, for everything."

"Lovely vintage villa at Mauna Kea. Among the many pros: easy walk to the hotel and beach (the new gym and adult pool are fantastic), cheery decor, nice layout, and gorgeous views from the lanai day and night. Two cons: the WiFi did not work during our stay (despite several messages to the property manager, it was never resolved); and an overpowering scent of Raid upon arrival. (I totally understand the bug challenge and the need to mitigate but a less toxic option or timing the spraying to allow time for off gassing would be better for guests). Overall, we loved our stay."

"This home is spectacular. The outdoor area cannot be beat. The views from the pool and hut tub over the ocean, star gazing at night, and complete privacy is incredible. We had a wonderful time exploring Big Island, however, we all agreed one of our favorites things about our vacation was this house. The host was amazing and left a wonderful gift basket for our arrival. Easy communication, friendly, and responsive. We would return in a heartbeat and look forward to returning in the future!"

"We loved staying here. The home was comfortable and quiet - yes there is highway noise but we were not bothered by it - we all slept better than we have in months! The beds were super comfortable and having the air conditioning to keep us cool at night was wonderful. The central air really is a game changer for night time and not that common in Hawaii, in my experience. The home was stocked with every pot, pan and utensil we could have needed, including a rice cooker that we used almost every day. Tupperware also! We fired up the grill one night and that was fabulous. The kitchen is kind of separate from where the TV is which was great for grownups cooking and chatting while the kids watched tv. I was trying to make a mental list of all the exceptional things about this place when I was there, because I was so appreciative of things like loads of bath towels (good, decent sized soft towels!) and great water pressure. The water got hot fast and worked well when both showers were in use. Unlike my own house! Haha. The patio was so wonderful - we sat out there for many meals. The plumeria tree gave us flowers every day and the kids loved watching the anole and the birds. Incredible view. We used the beach toys, cooler and beach towels daily. It was so great to have those things available to us! Overall the home has such a comfortable vibe, it's well decorated and there were many sweet touches all around the home, including in the yard. The hosts were awesome communicators."

"We had a wonderful stay and could not have been happier with this property. Everything was exactly as described—and even better in person. The location was perfect, with stunning views and easy access to everything we wanted to do on the Kohala Coast.The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the Big Island. The home was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and very well stocked with everything we needed during our stay.One of the most thoughtful touches was the fresh homemade bread waiting for us when we arrived. It was absolutely delicious and made us feel instantly welcome. The coffee that was provided was also greatly appreciated and helped make our mornings on the lanai even more enjoyable.The hosts have clearly put a great deal of care into creating a warm and inviting experience for their guests. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Kohala."
