Prince Bay Park, which is also known as Taiziwan Park, is made up of over 80 hectares (200 acres) of exquisitely landscaped gardens, making it one of the loveliest locations in the West Lake Scenic Area. Rent a bicycle to easily see the entirety of this immaculately manicured park in one day.
Come to Prince Bay Park in the springtime to see the park covered in tulips. Each year the park plays host to a Tulip Festival in celebration of this colourful time. The park’s cherry and apple trees are also in bloom around this time of year.
In winter, marvel at the bright yellow foliage of the ginkgo and French phoenix trees, which grow amongst bright red maple canopies. Regardless of the time of year, the park is awash in vivid colour and so it is a good idea to bring a camera.
Prince Bay Park is an extremely popular location for wedding ceremonies and there is bound to be a wedding taking place regardless of the weather. The several ornamental bridges, which span the crystal-clear river, are preferred locations for wedding photos. It is not uncommon to see newlyweds touring the park in horse-drawn carriages.

Climb the stairs in the section of the park that borders the hill to get spectacular views of Hangzhou. Artists, who come to paint the lovely West Lake, frequent this peaceful vantage point. Visit the park on the weekend, when families from Hangzhou enjoy themselves in the park, to get a taste of local life.
Prince Bay Park is located at the Taiziwan Gate on Nanshan Road, which is not far from downtown Hangzhou. There is a small entrance fee for the park. To get to Prince Bay Park, take a bus to Flower Harbour or to Huagang.
