"From the time I checked in until the time we left, all of the staff at Pierpont Inn in Ventura, CA were friendly and went the extra mile to answer any guest questions. The front desk staff, both day and night, were very nice and went out of their way to make sure our stay was excellent.
We only stayed one night, but the service was outstanding and the ocean view was beautiful. The queen suite was awesome — it had a huge shower and a separate bedroom and living room with a door in between for added privacy. The suite also had a great ocean view, which made the stay even better. It also came with free breakfast, which was a nice bonus.
Overall, we had an excellent stay and would definitely stay again."
"The hotel is a decent condition, location is convenient and very quiet. Front desk was extremely courteous and helpful. Complementary breakfast serves its purpose. The only minor issue is that the elevator on the left side (after getting into the hotel room area) makes interesting noises and sometimes opens by itself after it closes for no reason... would stay there again."
"Booked hotel through Expedia and upon arrival I was told that the motel was rebranding and never went through. It would’ve been great if I was told sooner. I also have not received my refund. "
"If you book through Expedia, the front desk staff will charge you an additional $56 dollar fee for “costs not covered by Expedia.” Since you’re traveling, you’re stuck paying the fee, unless you wanna risk not being able to find another place. Then we got a room that didn’t have the spa even though we booked it. We also got a dirty room. 3 out of the 5 windows have either no screen or a broken screen that lets flies into your room. Oh and there’s no shampoo or body soap, so you should bring your own. Would not recommend."
"The first room that was given to me smelled of old mold, the second one smelled as well but not as much. Staff was nice. Pillows and bedding was old and needed upgrades. Overall for that stay, I would expect to pay $50 per night and not almost $200."
"We understand what we get at Hotel 6 and it was good. But the attendant that evening was not fireman’s seemed to have an attitude. We overlooked it and stayed. This hotel is centrally located and lots of places to eat around there."
"Property location is fabulous. Hotel sits right on the beach and the noise from the surf fills the air. Because there are a lot of rocks, it's not an undulating surf, it's loud and it's constant. I like it.
The property itself though leaves a lot to be desired. It wasn't third world filthy, but it wasn't very clean. Floors were very dirty. Window sills were also dirty. Baseboards were dirty. Bedding and linens seemed fine. Lots of deferred maintenance. Many things were broken or in bad repair. Bathroom faucet handles were barely hanging on. Marble backsplash was cracked. There was dry rot present in door casings and baseboards. Toilet seat was hanging on by a thread. Shower surround was worn and there was drywall damage and mold at the top. The walls are VERY thin and if the ocean-facing window is closed, the sounds of the surf are replaced by the sounds of the freeway which is <100 feet away from the front of the property. The rooms have a feel of an owner that's no longer putting any $$ into the property and is simply looking to sell it ASAP."
