"This is a beautiful hotel especially if you are going on a cruise. You can park your car while you leave on your cruise and they have food and everything you think you may need before you leave. I booked on Expedia due to the rudeness of the staff when I was trying to book with them directly. The front desk lied and said they were booked for the days I needed and didn’t have parking available . When I showed up they stated they had plenty of rooms available and parking. They didn’t do a thing to acknowledge whatever staff I spoke to. They did take the call time and said that helps them narrow down whomever I spoke to. The staff I encountered in person was nothing like whomever I spoke to on the phone."

"We appreciated the large and comfortable room in this beautiful location, which was better than a standard hotel room! The low traffic area made for a quiet and restful stay. The historic charm of the Mansion on 17th will keep you coming back! The entire property is well maintained and very clean. The staff is welcoming and very personable! The air conditioning works well. The nightly social hour provides guests a chance to socialize with snacks and wine, beer, or a cocktail. The breakfast is a wonderful way to start our day! We appreciated the close proximity to the Strand, where we enjoyed restaurants and shopping. We even walked to the Galveston Railroad Museum during our stay."
