"This was incredible. If you are looking for a 5 star resort this may not be for you , but if you want a real authentic experience with an incredible view , I mean incredible. (This is saying a lot as I am from Alaska and have a high level of expectation for views ) the family that runs the base camp and restraint were so sweet this was one of the most memorable stays I’ve had in my life. "Highly recommend El MaPi. Logistically convenient, a very easy walk from train station, and close to the bus station heading up Machu Pichu. Hotel has an earthy/ nature oriented feel, very relaxing. Staff are very friendly, extremely helpful. Room was nice, clean, seemed fairly new/ updated. Restaurant was very good for both dinner and breakfast, fun bar for after dinner. I didn’t visit the spa, but am sure it was great too."

"The room is well located close to train station and bus stop to reach Machu Picchu. Close to restaurants and bars, without the inconvenience of loud noise until late at night. We really liked the bed, the number of available plugs in the room, the consistent hot water and water pressure when showering (really not granted in Peru). The room was very clean. The stuff very friendly and knowledgeable. The only real improvement would be breakfast, little variety and no real savoury options. It would have been nice to have eggs and some meaty options, moreover considering that visiting Machu Picchu involves long days with extensive walking. We would stay again in the future!"

"What a great group of friendly staff! From arriving at the train station to be met by Ruben who took care of the luggage, got us into the bus and by the time we were up at the hotel our bags were ready for us. Upon arrival we were greeted by Anthony "our shaman". Took care of every detail and gave us a lot of historical information. Have to say everyone from the front desk to the restaurant and bar were excellent and made our (short) stay worth it. Thanks to all!"
