The property and room is very convenient to the train station and bus stop for Machu Picchu. The room was comfortable and they had a great selection for breakfast available very early to accommodate for the buses leaving early for Machu Picchu

The hotel it self was actually pretty good. Let us store our luggage while we did Machu Picchu, Quite clean, constant hot water in shower, comfy bed, but speaking about the bed i think it was 2 doubles put together to make a “king” in the matrimonial room that also had a “mountain view” which was kinda blocked, you have to step out of the room to actually get the whole view. Breakfast option was nice too. Overall 4.5/5 rating from me. Would recommend if you want something slightly nicer that wont break the bank too much

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, must let you know there is no elevator, is near the top of the town on cobblestone walkways. Our family room was on the 4th floor. Staff helped get luggage up the circular stairway. It is next to a beautiful little park, is beside a rushing River, exquisite views and a 5-minute walk to the hot springs

Genuine, generous, caring staff made our stay delightful; we would return without question. Located up and away from busy part of town but very close to bus and train stations. Adjacent to river that runs through the town, lovely park-like planting in front. Filtered tap water, hot shower, lovely substantial breakfast. Very happy with our choice to stay there!

Great 3 days stay. The location is super convenient and the best part, it’s that is far from the busy part of town. The sounds of the river will lull you to sleep. The staff was amazing!!! The shower pressure and hot water were on point. The bathroom set up is a bit awkward/tough to get out of the shower as the toilet is almost right in front of it. The front desk girl, Micaela, provided with great info and super welcoming personality. Highly recommend a couple of days stay here so you can explore Machu Picchu

Kind and Caring Staff

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Retama Machupicchu. We were catching the earliest bus possible to Machu Picchu, and the front desk woman was able to accommodate us with a packed brown bag breakfast, luggage storage, and directions. After our excursion and (difficult) hike, she even let us rest our feet, unwind, and charge our phones in the lobby while we awaited our train. She was kind and helpful in making our time in Aguas Calientes a success.

I choosed ths hotel due to the Reviews and I am dissapointed, staff not friendly, room small, noisy, I was able to hear whatever happend in the building including my neightborh shower, see the lights. Breakfast was standart, nothing amazing, no eggs, etc
