"The place was very nice, clean, and was just as advertised. It was pretty small, but comfortably slept 3 of us. There was no kitchen, just a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a toaster. There are also no plates or bowls (even paper ones) so I suggest that you bring your own if you plan to use the kitchenette. The walk to the lifts is only about 5 min, and there is also a shuttle stop right out front if you don't want to walk."

Bluelake Inn at Tahoe

10/10 Excellent

"It was a very good experience. It’s not our first visit to this motel; 3rd I believe. They have repainted the outside so almost didn’t recognize the place. The rooms appear to have new carpet and we were very happy with the microwave and refrigerator. The beds are comfortable, and it has working air conditioning in all rooms. The property is close to town and is walkable to the outdoor concert venue formerly known as Harvey’s. Had a wonderful time and will definitely stay again!"

"The hotel’s location is excellent—just steps from the lake, within walking distance of many restaurants, a short drive to Nevada for even more dining options, and only about 20 minutes from the famous California state parks of Emerald Bay and D.L. Bliss. The Deluxe Queen room we stayed in was clean and well maintained, and surprisingly spacious. It had a huge bathroom as well as a separate living area with a microwave and mini fridge. Fluffy towels. All of the staff members I encountered were professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. On the second day, just before noon, there was an unexpected city-wide power outage that affected not only South Lake Tahoe but areas all the way to Carson City, Nevada. With no way to get food in town—or even within a half-hour drive—we decided to leave a day early. I spoke with the front desk about checking out early and receiving a refund for the remaining night, and asked to speak with someone who could authorize it. The front desk contacted the hotel manager, Scott, who calmly and graciously approved the request. He assured us that he would process the refund as soon as the hotel’s system came back online—and he did exactly that. Great location, a comfortable room, and, most importantly, wonderful people to work with. That’s really all I can say!"
