Highly recommend! Nestled amongst the grooves of a variety of majestic trees, the Eel River is a short hike down the mountain. Kids are encouraged to run free on the super cool fort playground with the other camping families and we loved cooking all our meals in the outdoor kitchenette right next to the fire pit. Wild blackberries appear every 10 feet while hiking the area, ripe for the taking and oh so sweet! There is a really neat pub, outdoor yard games, and a swimming pool too cold for us Floridians to enjoy 😆 we did brave the cold waters of the river to enjoy the exhilarating rope swing about a 20 minute hike away from the property (will post some pics/video - it was the biggest rope swing we’ve been on!) We stayed in the Firehouse Cabin, which the boys picked out and it’s decorated w/ all kinds of cute firefighting regalia. The weather is so nice year round there is no need for AC (and they don’t have any), so we just left the screened slider open and woke to the sound of the many Stellar Blue Jays that call this place home. The property is conveniently located about an hour south of Humboldt county where the Avenue of the Giants begin (and will blow your mind!) it’s across the street from Confusion Hill, a neat tourist attraction w/ a fun alpine switch back train ride and just a few minutes away from several state parks with swimming, fishing and even a waterfall. Shoutout to the friendly staff as well like Disco Dan, Teresa, and house keeping crew!
