"Nice old hotel next to the river and park. Unfortunately for us it was a night of a very bad storm and the sash windows rattled like crazy followed by a bit of a breeze in the room but it was otherwise a very pleasant stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful, just a ten minute walk the town centre and 15 mins to the lake and free parking."

"What a wonderful stay at the Castle Inn! Everything was excellent...,rooms,especially the wonderful comfy bed,were very good. Breakfast had a very good choice and good quality food.The meals in the evening also ticked all the boxes! Excellent pool,sauna/steam room with a large jacuzzi....very clean throughout.Staff were very welcoming,and very helpful....Katie was lovely at reception and Paul served a great pint of guinness! Definately will return."

"We received a phone call from The Grange several hours before check-in, telling us that we could check in early if we wished as the weather was poor. This was just the start of the care and attention we found during our stay. The room was beautiful and very well appointed, the rest of the hotel (guest house seems too reductive) equally beautiful. A quiet, relaxing, place with fabulously attentive staff who were just so willing to help. The styling and attention to detail were second to none. The breakfasts were wonderful, too. Cereals, fruit, yoghurt, and a range of cooked breakfasts that we very much enjoyed and which really set us up for the day. This was our second stay at The Grange and we can't wait to return!"

"The room was clean beside a blood stain on one of the duvets. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was an issue as the road was being resurfaced, but the staff did tell us where the best place to park was. The breakfast was excellent, it really set us up for a day in the hills. Overall a good value room for visiting the Lakes."

All the staff were excellent and very dog friendly. My only complaint was although I had asked for a ground floor room due to problems with my knees this was not available and I had to manage the stairs which was difficult. On the whole à very pleasant break"
