In the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, this historic mining town has excellent skiing, an international film festival and over 100 restaurants.

Park City, a former silver-mining boomtown, is now one of Utah’s premier ski destinations. Enjoy its dramatic mountain backdrop and year-round opportunities for outdoor adventures, open-air festivals and exciting nightlife. Established by prospectors in the 1860s, Park City gained global recognition as a major venue for the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Today, adventure sports enthusiasts flock to the town’s superb mountain destinations. After a major investment in 2015, Park City is now the largest resort in the U.S. It has two amenity-filled base villages, Canyons Village and Park City Village.

In winter, ski and snowboard on a combined area terrain of 9,326 acres (3,774 hectares) and 426 runs. Try dog-sledding, Nordic skiing, skating, snowshoeing and tubing. Summer presents the chance to bike, hike and ride on horseback across wildflower meadows. Play golf, go standup paddle-boarding, fish for trout and ride thrilling zip-line courses.

Come to the Utah Olympic Park to ride an Olympic-standard bobsled track and watch professional athletes train. Learn about Park City’s skiing and Olympic history at the Alf Engen Ski Museum and the Eccles 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum.

The town itself centres on lively Main Street, which has direct lift access to the Park City ski slopes. Retrace the town’s mining heritage at the Park City Museum. Admire art exhibitions at the Meyer Gallery, Mountain Trails Gallery and Silver Queen Fine Art. Shop at well-known retail outlets and browse antique and craft stalls at the Park Silly Sunday Market.

Choose from more than 100 bars and restaurants, including bakeries, brewpubs, lounge bars and steakhouses. Attend ballet, comedy and drama performances at the Egyptian Theatre. Canyons Village and Deer Valley amphitheaters host live concerts.

Reach Park City by flying to Salt Lake City and then renting a car or catching a bus. Time your visit to coincide with the town’s cultural festivals, including January’s Sundance Film Festival and the free summer Beethoven Festival Park City.
