The property was beautiful, & the staff was all pleasant, we had difficulty with a water issue in our room & had to be moved to another location. Management was excellent in making things better. On the other hand EXPEDIA SUCKS!!! I tried several times to alter my reservation when I was within the window to do so. Expedia said they could not reach the property, and therefore, I could not alter the reservation without canceling the whole stay. And to do so, I could rebook the rooms for the remaining time at more than double the price. I had purchased additional insurance thinking this would protect me, but it does nothing- BEWARE!! I discussed this with the property once I arrived, they said they had not heard from Expedia, & that this was typical story when booking with Expedia. At another property I stayed at while on this same trip, I asked them about altering your stay with Expedia, they indicated Expedia would not alter the reservation once you had paid. That they never hear from Expedia on altering dates. After discussing with others I know, they have said they have experienced the same problems with EXPEDIA. I will never book again with Expedia. Based on the professionalism of the manager at Bluegreens Bayside resort, I would recommend this property. The FTC should look into Expedia's refund/alteration process. Not altering your reservation within the window Expedia prescribed & saying the hotels is at fault, when Expedia did not even call them. LIES! Expedia is awful!!
