This motel has basic facilities and will work for those looking for convenience and value for money. We found the place damp and cold. One of the rooms had mouldy curtains and smelly bedspreads. The walls were very thin and we could hear the neighbours moving about. We had to sleep with earplugs on.
Great proximity to the wharf and main street. The kids had a trampoline to use and there is the primary school playground and oval to use after schools finished.
No oven just a cooktop but the facilities were all good if you didn't want the expense of eating out.
The photos of this motel are deceiving. Our 2 bedroom 'apartment' was very dated and small. It certainly looked nothing like the photos. The carpet was dirty and in poor condition. The curtains were in very poor condition and the ones in bedrooms had what appeared to be a cigarette burn in them and had mold all through them. The kitchen and bathroom were clean. We felt this motel was very shabby and overpriced and we were not happy to stay there. We checked out again and we're given a full refund. I would never stay there again. We went across the road and got a lovely room which was cheaper.
The room was very compact but did include everything we needed as was equiped with kitchen facilities and a heater.

Convenient distance to downtown & waterfront.
Visited Paihia a great little town. Motel was of the old style that has done some renovations but could use some further tlc. Accommodations were clean & quiet. Did here the noise from toilets/showers above being used.

Family room
This hotel was in a very good location, easy walk to the shops and ferries. It fitted the 6 of us well, with the use of the sofa bed. It was handy having a kitchen but very simple and small so wouldn't be able to make a big fancy meal. The water pressure in the shower was hopeless. Very handy having washing facilities and a clothes line. It had a trampoline at the back and next door to the primary school so we also had use of the playground there. It was serviced very well. Bit pricey but suited us well.

OK stay.
We stayed for two nights so that we could do a cruise in the bay. It was ok. Washing was cheap. Not airconditioned.

Very average.
Pretty average and overpriced for its age and upkeep. Overall old fashioned nz motel that needs a facelift. Showers impossible as all family members struggled with burning or cold water.
Location is everything I guess, hence the rate. That said, very convenient to the main area as a short walk to 'downtown' and the harbor.
