"Already booked for next year!We’ve been coming to the Stowe area to vacation for roughly 20 years, and we think this homey cottage/cabin directly on Lake Eden is certainly the most picturesque we’ve rented. And if you are there during Thanksgiving week, as we were, extremely quiet – we were pretty much the only ones out there – other than a flock of wild turkeys.Despite the feeling of remoteness, you are only 15-20 minutes away from Morrisville and the grocery shopping/dining opportunities there, so it makes a good base of operations for heading out to visit much of what Vermont has to offer.When weather was not favorable, just sitting inside with a snapping fire going in the fireplace and watching the lake change colors and mood was extremely relaxing.Beds were very comfy, showers had great water pressure, and country kitchen is spacious and very well-stocked for cooking most meals. We brought our own knives and non-stick pans as we would for any rental, but the ones supplied were in pretty good nick. The washer/dryer just off the mudroom entry are quick and efficient.If we had any suggestion for improvement, it’s that the living room furniture could use a refresh – the cushions on the wicker chair and futon are quite flat, so trying to curl up with a book in front of the fire was not that comfortable.FYI, the shared, single-lane, private driveway/road to the house is tricky only in that there are some very deep potholes, so you def want to keep the speed down."
