Olympic Park is a vast sports complex that was built for the 20th Olympic games, which took place in Munich in 1972. Among the park’s main attractions are the 69,000-seat Olympic Stadium, the Olympic Swimming Pool and the Olympic Hall, which are linked by a large tensile roof canopy. Many regional and international sporting events still take place in the park, which is located 4.8 kilometres (3 miles) northwest of the city centre. There are music concerts year-round in the outdoor Olympic Stadium and the indoor Olympic Hall.
Adventurous visitors can climb to the roof of the Olympic Stadium. Admire the panoramic view of the city spread below you. Back on the ground, pay a fee to use the five large pools in the swimming centre. Make a great splash as you jump from the top diving board. Relax in the sauna and sunbathe on the outdoor patch of grass. There is an ice-skating centre in operation year-round, converted from the former Olympic Boxing Hall.
During the winter months, you can see children riding down the snowy Olympic Hill on sleds. Join them on the hill that was created from World War II rubble. In the summer, take advantage of the warm evenings to watch open-air concerts and film screenings. There are also firework displays and other events.

The Olympic Park is free to enter. There are fees for various events and activities. Take the metro to Olympiazentrum, a short walk from the park. There is a large area on-site for paid parking.
