I was surprised at how nice this place was, and the surrounding area. The store next to the place is also amazing, we bought stuff and made dinner in our room!

It’s a cute little hotel. The halls smell musty and our balcony door did not lock. The bathroom light fixtures were rusted and the room was small. The bathroom door is also not hung correctly. It scraped along the floor and was difficult to open and close. The hotel should try to negotiate parking with Andronico’s next door. They have ample parking that doesn’t get used at night. We ended up parking there overnight as the security guard said they don’t care as long as you’re not being disruptive or sleeping in your car. But overall it’s a cute hotel with a great location. And it's walking distance to Cal and lots of eateries and shops.

In a convenient location, but also busy. No parking on site, but we were able to find nearby street parking fairly easily (weekend). A bit run-down. Lots of dining options nearby. Worked great for a quick weekend getaway.

This is a barebones hotel, but they get everything right. If you want to be in Berkeley in a neighborhood, this is your place. The attached bistro opens at 6:30am and makes the best cappuccinos in the area against some stiff competition. Cheese Board pastries are just a few doors down. Good bus service right outside or a bit of a walk to BART.

This hotel is near my mother and in a great walking location in Berkeley. I have stayed here for years. Due to my schedule change, I stayed in two different rooms this time. Both were comfortable and everything worked. The rooms are starting to look a little shabby, it has been a long time since a refresh and it is due. I would stay again next time due to location and the very interesting coffee shop.

Delightful

We were delighted. A bit funky, very practical, clean, fun neighborhood, $8 parking next door, cafe downstairs. Loved the end room overlooking the street.... fun to have cafe and street bustle... felt very European. Had everything we needed.

Sens Hotel and Bistro was a charming and comfortable place to stay for several days while I attended to personal business. The room itself was attractive and well-appointed. There were many toiletries available for the forgetful. The bed was very comfortable and there were lights and plugs everywhere I needed them to be. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely return!

This is a unique place first impression looks like a coffee shop no lobby but doesn't matter is a nice place to be, the heater didn't work but not s big deal for me.

Great stay!

Stayed with friends - went to a show at the Greek. Adorable. Friendly staff. Quirky building - but it made it part of the uniqueness of the hotel. Enjoyed waking and hanging out in the coffee shop and then walking to shop the next day. Truly enjoyed this place and will definitely be back! Thanks for all the tiny details in the rooms - bathroom items, coffee in the room, the decor - and the flashlight in the closet made me smile 😉

Can’t beat the location. Right in the Gourmet Ghetto. It is rather a hands off operation. Very small staff, some barely acknowledge your presence. The rooms are clean and comfortable but there are no common spaces

Not wanting to stay in a chain hotel, but to support local business and what a great find! I was there from 09-11 to 09-15. Although there were some areas which needed tending (wall paper peeling, a couple stains on the throw cover, and a shower head which no matter your placement, will spray water outside the bath area)- all super simple fixes-will be my "go-to" stay in Berkeley.
