"The hotel isn't in the nicest area, there are several ran down motels, bars, and liquor stores very close by. It does look nice in the lobby area. Our room was actually pretty nice, until we saw the bathroom. The wall above the toilet had a huge black stain on it...either mildew or black mold. The bathroom vent is extremely dirty. We also noticed blood on the comforter, you can tell it hadn't been washed. The

"We were in the older portion of the hotel which was more worn down looking. They only had smoking rooms available. The cigar smell when you open the room door was a lot. But the sewage smell made it even worse. We bought a device from Yankee Candle that helped with the cigar smell but did little to help with the sewage. The

area was really nice till the hot tubs got crowded with loud drinks. The staff was very attentive. The dining options were nice."

"We enjoyed our stay at Spring House Inn. It reminded us of staying in a state park lodge. It is on a large property with a creek, lots of trees, plenty of parking. Our room was large, clean, and quiet. Breakfast offerings included eggs, sausage, waffles, and yogurt. The hotel is very convenient for a visit to near-by Indiana Dunes National Park (visitor center is about a 6 minute drive). We would stay again. In terms of feeling safe and nearness to the park, the surrounding area is great. It is very residential. There is a pizza restaurant next door. No other shops or businesses in the surrounding blocks. "
