"This traditional Japanese Inn is thoroughly modern with excellent facilities, rooms, Michelin quality food, and helpful staff. We want to call out ‘Mikki’ who was super kind and helped us with any language barriers we had. The entire restaurant staff was amazing and we are grateful to meet the chef. "It is a simple ryokan which shows how it used to be. Very serene and quiet place with a small but beautiful onsen (hot pool and outside rockpool). Right there he walk to the Buddhist temple along the Kansii River starts. A most outstanding forest walk with many Buddhist features along the way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and that 2 hour walk."

"The room was clean and large. The food was excellent and the monks were friendly and helpful. The grounds and facility was beautiful. We were blessed with a fresh snowfall to make it even more beautiful. Keep in mind if you go in the winter, even though your room is toasty warm, the halls are not. So any walking to dinner, a ceremony, THE BATHROOM, is all in freezing temperatures and I never got hot water from the tap to wash my hands with. "
