  • What makes Romford Street Cottage special is its unique character, fantastic location, and recent refresh designed with guest comfort in mind.

    Unlike traditional terraced houses, Sunderland cottages are a distinctive style of property rarely found elsewhere in the UK. They may appear compact from the outside, but guests are often surprised by how spacious they are inside, offering generous living accommodation across two floors.

    We've recently completed a mini refurbishment, including a brand-new king-size bed installed in June 2026, updated décor, new furnishings, and a range of thoughtful touches to create an even more comfortable and welcoming stay.

    The cottage is perfectly located for a wide variety of guests. Sunderland Royal Hospital is just a short walk away, making it ideal for visiting family members, healthcare professionals, and contractors. Pallion Shopping Centre is nearby for everyday essentials, while Sunderland city centre is easily accessible by foot, bus, Metro, or car.

    For football fans and concert-goers, the Stadium of Light is just 2.1 miles away and can be reached in around 10 minutes via the Metro. Guests attending performances at the Sunderland Empire Theatre will also find the cottage a convenient and affordable alternative to city-centre hotels.

    If you're looking to enjoy the coast, the award-winning beaches of Roker and Seaburn are only a short drive or Metro journey away. The cottage also benefits from excellent transport links to Newcastle, Durham, and the wider North East via the A19 and A1.
