It’s a simple place for people who don’t want to spend a lot of money for being close to many great places in New York. I didn’t like the check in experience, she was like annoying and wanted to be done with me. Housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful, they were so sweet. Check out was quick and simple.
Front desk staff must be better.

Disliked: Amenities
The best thing is it's proximity to the Subway A line, literally a 90 second walk front the gate. The bad was that no housekeeping for the 3 nights I stayed. Had to remove my own garbage as I ate in their the first night. The ac blows cold but some kind of incense smells coming up or from whatever the cleaned the room with which was not very pleasant. Wonky bathroom tap too. However on the plus side, beds was comfortable and sheets clean. Not much more to say. Adequate for a 2 night stay but longer, shows up issues.

We stayed at this hotel because of a last minute trip and a 12 hour layover for a flight. Orbitz says the hotel is 3.1 miles from JFK when it is actually a 7 mile trip and 20+ minutes. The hotel is in a sketchy neighborhood. They offer rooms for different hourly rates, you figure out why. The bed was comfortable, the staff was helpful. I would not stay there again.
The room was clean. The curtains had holes in it. There was a TV in the room but no remote control. The lamp by the bed did not work and it had 1 light bulb.
This hotel is located in a not so nice neighborhood especially at night. Parking is terrible. The phone lines don ’t work and on that particular night the printer was not working therefore the receptionist was taking ID pictures with her phone. The room was nice and cool from the AC but the constant banging of the doors and hallway noise made sleep very uncomfortable and impossible. Someone had the music on blasting all night long which is insane. The floors and the sheets felt dirty however the bed was comfortable. I would never send my dog to spend a night there.

People were friendly, the light was out in the bathroom and the room smelled, but was clean
The room only had one garbage bin that was in the bathroom. I went to the front desk and told the lady and she said the rooms only have one garbage bin. Lol mind you I’ve been there before and hotel rooms in general supposed to have a bin in the main room and one in the bathroom. But anyway the room wasn’t clean there was a hole in the ceiling of the bathroom. You hear a lot of noise from outside.its around the corner from Mott Ave which is as good as it gets. But ya get what you pay for
Comfortable to stay. WiFi is strong. My only complaint is that the TV had no signal.

Front Desk was great, definitely a rough neighborhood - far from the city center, and there are safer options closer to JFK. The room was clean, building is more like an apartment complex than a hotel, but if you just need a place to reset for a few hours it will work. Hourly rates posted means you’ll hear a lot of noises during the night.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
I recently stayed at Hotel Mint JFK, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing.
Due to the blizzard, I was unexpectedly stranded in New York and had to extend my stay for four days with my young son. During what was already a stressful situation, I expected at minimum a clean, safe, and restful environment. That was not the case.
From the moment I arrived, the overall cleanliness of the property was unacceptable. The floors, walls, and bathtub in my room were visibly dirty. The hallways and elevator were also unclean, which made the entire environment feel neglected and poorly maintained.
I requested additional towels during my stay and never received them. The staff was unresponsive and did not follow through, which added to the frustration.
There was a strong marijuana odor throughout the hotel during our entire stay. In addition, there were loud arguments taking place in the hallways between 2:00–3:00 a.m. multiple nights, making it difficult to feel safe or get proper rest — especially while traveling with my child.
To make matters worse, the vending/ice machine was not working.
Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience during an already difficult travel situation. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone — not even in an emergency.

The staff they are the best thing in this hotel. They really try to help and accommodate you and really go out of their way to make you comfortable. But the amenities are horrible the elevator stopped working the day before we left so you could imagine us having to take our luggage down the stairs. This hotel management can do so much better to make the place less smelly of marijuana. The area is not bad for food it is in walking distance and you have to park on the road. Please do something about the smell of marijuana and the cleanliness of the hotel as well as fixing the amenities so that guest and their families can feel more comfortable. The staff is excellent and they are the only ones who ad value to this hotel.
The floor was sticky, it smelled strongly of Pine Sol, except the bathroom, which smelled like pot. There was one half of a working power outlet in the whole room. Everything is chipped and worn. Toilet roll holder is broken. Worst incident was the TV coming on by itself in the middle of the night. Twice. We did not have a TV remote, because they only give them out with a deposit, though they didn't tell us that at check-in. Front desk had no explanation for self-activating TV, and couldn't actually answer any questions. SO much shouting on the street corner on a Sunday night. Loud airplane noise, to be expected. The A Line across the street was surprisingly quiet, and made it very convenient to get to JFK. This place is a last resort.
