Economy is okay.

The cost or a bed was minimal - and you get what you pay for. The elevator worked. My room was tidy, internet worked in the common room, and bed adequate. Shared bathrooms always have shower issues. Overall, I felt safe.

Central Park West Hostel-New York, misrepresents itself as being a clean, inviting, and comfortable hostel. In fact, there is infestation of roachs in the common/kitchen/lounging area=a small all purpose area. There were roaches in the bathroom area as well. The staff were pleasant and helpful, but the accomodations were a lot to be desired. I will not recommend this hostel.

The thinnest mattress I’ve ever slept on ;-/

The front desk person on the day I arrived wasn’t very friendly. The reception area had a weird smell, and there were a pair of dirty sneakers sitting by the window. I asked for a towel, and they gave me one from a white box — it was dirty. I asked, “Is this clean?” and they said, “Yeah, it’s clean.” Pretty unpleasant, honestly. I didn’t spend much time there. The location is good, and the neighborhood feels safe. I guess for NYC, the price and quality kind of match. The guy at the front desk on Sunday during check-out was the only one who was nice and helpful — he’s the one who slightly turned my experience around. Would I recommend it? If you’re not too picky and you’re on a budget, it’s fine.

Unfortunately, the pictures are way nicer on the sites. Luckily I only saw one roach which was near the lobby kitchen area and no rats. Great location however.

It has been a great experience and stay in this place. The place is central and easily accessible, the workers of the place were always very friendly and courteous. The treatment by the staff has been the best, I highly recommend it.

Stop star quality, I could not even believe my own eyes as I was not expecting this!!! All these bad reviews are people that where drunk!! This place is creme Della creme!!! It's better then a 1000 USD dollar hotel right by the park!!!

It's a good place, for the price it's great you share a room with only one person and people that work here are chilled and leave you alone, you don't have to pay a fee for the deposit. Nice thing is that you have the bath and shower room to your self and it is not like other places where there are 3 showers in one room. It's not a luxury 7star place but it's been my favorite budget place in NYC so far

The location is convenient and clean. But the place is super noisy because is located right in front of the metro line. So, don't expect to rest there. Better windows would make a big difference.

The staff were nice and we were right next to the subway stop. However, it took 40 minutes to check in since when we arrived no one was at the front desk (another person had also been waiting even longer than us). The sheets were also dirty and we saw a bed bug. Definitely bring your own blanket if you get cold. They also didn't have soap in the bathroom to wash your hands and the showers were dirty.

It's a place if you need a place in NYC, it is close to Central Park or opposite direction the river walk. Location is great. And close to a main artery Subway station. However lacking in areas. Smaller rooms, one of the toilets I had to beg to flush, cleaning staff may have been on vacay, it's an older building, the common area was, They do have a coffee machine, vending machine, a large shared refrigerator for food ( I didn't see anywhere to cook besides a microwave) a fun map with pushpins in it, and a community room futon. Price was excellent for NYC. I am glad it was available for me to book while in town.Thank You Central Park West Hostel.
