We absolutely loved this place. Wish we'd booked for a longer stay. Super convenient, really cosy and the hosts were fantastic.
There was a lot of excellent information available in the property, about local Onsen, attractions, restaurants etc. The hosts were very happy to facilitate bookings and make recommendations. We love it.
We absolutely loved our stay from the first minute we walked through the door to the warm welcome. Yoshi and Seong me were so attentive and fixed us with Jason and Gus to go skiing and we had the most amazing time . The skiing is unbelievable and we had the time of our lives!! Seong me makes beautiful jewelry and I couldn't resist making a purchase. We will defo be back, and highly recommend you stay here.
The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They helped my partner to arrange a special surprise gift for me upon arrival.
The place and room were very clean and nice. The bed was so comfortable! Location was excellent- close to monkey park, close walk to onsen and restaurants and bus station. Would highly recommend.
Overall a nice mountain get away from the city bustle. Beautiful scenic views in this city. The couple was extremely friendly and helpful in providing recommendations on things to do in the area. The place was extremely clean which I appreciated.
I cannot fault the hostel, the bed was really comfortable and it was very clean, the only area of improvement that I can comment on would be the frontdesk’s hospitality The way we were treated during check in was very unwelcoming. We arrived at around 1230pm and the man who “welcomed” us did not make us feel welcome at all. We think he was actually annoyed, he told us that check in was at 3, which was fine but I asked him if we can leave our bags. Having travelled all the way from Tokyo, we were all tired from the early morning trip and we asked if we can use the bathroom to change our clothrs and the man replied, no coz its being cleaned right now. At that point, I really got annoyed and answered him back that we cannot even use the toilet? And he responded very coarsely, okay go, go and use it, go now! The check in was really awkward, as if we were intruding. The woman on the other hand was really lovely. Again, the hostel is really nice and clean but the man at the frontdesk I reckon need to be trained more on how to welcome guests hospitably.
Big thanks to the owner couple who really put an effort into helping with recommendations and making sure the entire place was spot-less. Very good value for money.
Excellent hostel, very helpful and friendly staff, large comfortable room and very clean. A short walk from the train station, where you can also catch buses to the snow monkey park. There were lots of restaurants near by as well. Staff spoke very good english.
The hostel was fantastic and the staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. We loved our stay from start to finish. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom facilities were plentiful. Every morning we were provided food to prepare breakfast. Doing a bit of cooking was a nice change of pace. We did a load of laundry and had no idea how slow a washer/dryer combo is: be prepared to wait four hours to finish. We went out for dinner so no problem, just a surprise.
Yudanaka was a delightful town and we had some of our best meals there. Ask for suggestions and you won’t go wrong. Of course we had to go see the snow monkeys and picked the perfect day. We easily saw more than 100 monkeys during our visit to the park.
Good service as they helped to call the staff for our next hotel which they spoke in Japanese to fetch us from the hostel to the next hotel we were checking in to. Room was bare with 2 beds and hangers limited. Reckon this should be expected since it’s a hostel. Assigned room was noisy as it was directly above the entrance of the hotel. Woken up by pretty loud conversations in the morning. Hotel staff speaks English.
Had such a great stay at Aibiya hostel. Was warmly welcomed by Seongmi, one of the owners of the hostel.I have stayed in many hostels in Japan and this is the best. It is built in Japanese style and really comfortable. I also met Yoshi the other owner and had many talks with both of them and they gave great recommendations. They also include a self-service breakfast in the morning which was great. If you are coming for skiiing or to visit the snow monkeys I would definitely recommend this hostel.
We only had one night on our way to see the Snow Monkeys so we really did not get to spend much time at our accommodation but the time we had there was good. The hostel is very close to the station and we easily wheeled our luggage there on the short walk. Yoshi and Seongmi were very helpful both before we arrived answering all our questions and with recommendations of places to visit while we were there.
Our family of three stayed in the family deluxe room which was very spacious and comfortable with its own toilet and bathroom. Breakfast was included and good.
Great value for money and very conveniently located to the Snow Monkeys.
