"Property was nice. Service was great. Place is dated but probably the best hotel in the area. No high end resorts in Hilo that I could find. Food and drinks were good. Small pool but was clean and nice view of ocean. Also I think you can only valet you vehicle which could get expensive if you are there multiple nights in addition to reset fees. It Was $75 extra for fees and valet plus tips for 1 night. Was satisfied w resort for the one night airport stay. "

" It was my first time staying at the property. The shared bathroom and shared kitchen was concern at first, but I got used to after the first night. On the first night, there was another guest sleeping on the couch in the shared living room. That MF snored like a loud dying pig. The walls are not that thick and I could hear him from my room. But, liked that the room opened to the balcony. The room, Room 2, where I stayed was close to a highway so the traffic noise was bearable, but the traffic died down in the evening. The balcony also has two plastic Adirondack chairs where I sat every morning watching the sunrise, if you could look beyond the power cables that sometimes interfered with the view. The property was within 20 min of where I needed to go. There’s a McDonald’s with an all-day/all-night drive through; would get my coffee and breakfast and sit on the balcony waiting for the sunrise. It would be nice to have a Keurig that is connected to the plumbing so no need to refill. There’s also a full size fridge/freezer where you can store your leftovers."

"It’s a utilitarian budget hotel without some pretty standard amenities like AC or in room WiFi, but for what it is it’s fantastic. Very close to some beautiful parks, and the bay views are great. "

"Staff was wonderful, charming little hotel. Banana bread, coffee and fruit for breakfast was great! Loved having a kitchen. Allowed us to use the towels even after our check out so we could go to the beach and drop them off on our way to the airport. "

"When we arrived, Neil was there to greet us, show us how to handle the gate and number of things for the property. He was very friendly, kind and understanding. He checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. This property had great space to walk a dog for a pet friendly VRBO. We had amble space to walk our pet and enjoy the view and lot. Once it was time to check out , check out was simple and straightforward We appreciated his communication and outgoing personality We look forward to potentially renting his property again"

"The Wild Ginger offers the true big island lodging experience. Staff is young, very friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable, clean and have a lovely vintage vibe. Anyone that has something negative to say about this hotel probably shouldn't be visiting this island. This place rocks! Stay Here!"
