"The hotel over all was great - bed was comfortable, easy access, great location, clean, friendly staff. Our main issue is a noise complaint. We paid extra for the spacious garden suite, room 103A, but unfortunately the room is not soundproofed at all, and it’s inconveniently located right behind the reception wall. From the bed we were able to hear all conversations between staff and guests alike from 6am to 11pm. Every time any of the many doors would open or close, it would echo in the suite since the room door has a 3cm gap at the base. It seems they attempted to resolve the issue by providing a white noise machine on the bedside table. Also, neither of the two TV’s were connected to the internet, rendering them useless. I’d bet that the other rooms don’t have this particular noise issue, but beware the garden suite."

"The front desk concierge on April 23, around 5:30 PM, was not considerate at all. In fact, he seemed to do the opposite of what I requested. I asked for a room with the bay view, but he gave me a room on the opposite side, with no view of the bay. When I mentioned that I booked this vacation to rest and relax, he placed me in a room on the 23rd floor, directly beneath ongoing renovations. It felt as though this was done intentionally. The noise was unbearable. We woke up at 6 AM to hammering and drilling. There was no warning about these renovations on the Sheraton website or at the time of booking. However, the other staff members who later assisted me were absolutely amazing and very kind. They changed my room on April 24, around 12 PM, and the new room was excellent, quiet, with a beautiful view of English Bay. I truly appreciate their help."

"This is a clean, affordable and central place to stay in downtown Vancouver. The staff are great. The rooms are large - though a bit dated. The restaurant and coffee shop are handy. It can be noisy (traffic, sirens) due to its location and the single pane windows (try to get a room at the back of the building). There are a pool and exercise room but both are in a dingy basement area. "

Upon my late arrival in Vancouver, I was informed at the front desk that the room I had reserved included a shared bathroom with other guests. This came as a complete surprise, as there was no clear indication of shared bathroom accommodations in the Expedia listing at the time of booking. Having traveled extensively around the world during my career as an airline pilot for over 12 years, I have stayed in a wide range of hotels, and this was the first time I encountered such an arrangement without prior disclosure. Due to the late hour and lack of alternative options, I had no choice but to upgrade to a small room with a private bathroom at a significantly higher cost In addition, the internet service at the hotel was extremely slow and unreliable. It was difficult to use even for basic purposes, and it was not possible to watch television or stream content, which further impacted the quality of my stay.As a result, my three-night stay totaled close to $1,000, which was far beyond what I had initially expected based on the information provided. I strongly believe that this situation was the result of misleading or incomplete information on the Expedia platform, combined with substandard hotel conditions. Please request the different payment back to me."
