"Wonderful location, great service and beautiful accommodation"

"This hotel dates back to 1870, and while the history is evident, it is definitely showing its age. Our room was small, though adequate for our needs. However, the cleanliness was a bit disappointing-the lobby sofa was stained, and the guest room doors were noticeably dirty. There is also a very strong, rose-like floral scent throughout the lobby and rooms which might be overwhelming if you are sensitive to smells. On the positive side, the location is excellent and within walking distance of most major sightseeing spots in Siena. They also offer convenient luggage storage if you arrive before check-in, and the hotel is pet-friendly. Breakfast was also included with our stay."

"The room was full of ants and other small insects. I was staying in the middle of Tuscany wine country, I would expect my room to have a corkscrew and at least glass glasses. The room only had flimsy plastic cups. "

"This hotel is a total scam. They state that no outside food or drinks are allowed on the premises. One night, staff saw us bringing a pizza back to our room but said nothing at the time. The next morning, they suddenly demanded a €50 fine. We tried to reason with them, but they insisted on charging my credit card anyway. This was an unfair dispute and an unreasonable charge. Luckily, my credit card company eventually reversed the €50 charge. Please think twice before booking this hotel."
