Creating a Family Experience

Loved the location of the home. Plenty of room for our group of 5. Convenient to stores, freeways and sights. Well supplied with everything we needed. Liked that we could park inside the gate. Would recommend staying there.again.

"Ernie's Place" was very comfortable, very clean, and fully equipped. We were there for three nights and enjoyed the plentiful bedroom storage, the kitchen facilities, and especially, after several days on the road, the laundry. Also, the Wi-Fi is excellent; we were able to stream the IndyCar race on our Roku stick with no problems. I also appreciated the off-street parking. We would definitely stay here again.

The home had been nicely updated, and had a great amount of usable space. It was very comfortable. While we didnt spend a lot of time at the house, it would be very easy to enjoy a relaxing evening at the home for dinner or a game night.Good proximity to local activities and downtown Monterey/Cannery Row!Would absolutely book here again next time we're in town.

Enjoyable stay

This was our first trip to the Monterey area and we really liked the location of this property. It met all of our needs as far as three bedrooms, a full kitchen and washer/dryer. I had reached out the property manager prior to our trip to ask a question and didn't get a response, which is why I gave 4 stars on that. All other communication with him was great. I also gave 4 stars on cleanliness because my two year old found items and dust/dirt under the couch and bed.

Carmel Wedding Spring 2025

Great place to stay 15 minutes from the wedding we were attending at La Playa hotel in Carmel. Great Mexican and French bakery within walking distance. Cool breakfast spots, pizza and taquerias 5 minute drive. Nicely appointed kitchen and comfortable bedrooms and living room out door patio was nice. Beach vibe decor was nice.

Great time away with our family

The five of us (parents three 20 something sons) had a great time getting away together. We played games, cooked, took walks at the nearby beach and went on a handrail ride (train tracks and all). The house is set up well for family hanging out. If you are planning on specific cooking/baking, I'd bring your 'have to have' supplies (cookie sheets for one) just in case.

Quiet Stay in Seaside

Was visiting to go to Monterey, Carmel, & area. This location has fast access to the highway to enjoy the places we wanted to visit. The house is setup well and very quiet at night. Loved our stay.

Wonderful stay near Monterey

Ernest's home was spacious and very comfortable. It was a beautiful place to stay while exploring Monterey. The home was very clean, well stocked and had a nice private garden area outside. Ernest was a great host and checked in to make sure everything was working properly. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

We had a fun time staying at the house and enjoying the weather in the area. Only problem was with the master bathroom toilet which I told the owner about. Sorry that we had to leave a day early due to needing to return the Louisiana due to Hurricane Francine.

Beautiful property, convenient amenities, and close to everything. There was plenty of space for our family of 5. The landscaping was beautiful and gave us a private area to relax in the evenings with a view of the ocean. Would definitely recommend!

Cozy Retreat

Myself and a few friends visited Monterey to celebrate my friend’s birthday. I rented this VRBO based on location, reviews and the pictures included online. We were definitely happily surprised at the home, it was clean and cozy, and accommodating. We all had a wonderful weekend celebrating our friend together.

Beautiful home with amazing views and walks to the ocean

I stayed for several days for a wedding in town. The home is beautifully done with lots of kitchen equipment, washer/dryer, and cool rooms with nice views. The kitchen and outside dining area have breathtaking views of the bay and walks through the neighborhood are beautiful as well. The home is conveniently located within walking distance of a Grocery Outlet grocery store, several restuarants, banks, and drug stores. We walked to the ocean each day. It is a wonderful find for a rental home.

Home was comfortable. Had a coffee maker but no coffee or filters so need to bring your own. Neighbors took up the street parking so fortunately the driveway was long enough to fit our two vehicles. I would stay here again.

Wonderful property

This is a great property!!!! You can see the ocean. There are fruit trees in the back yard. Really nice decor. Easy to find. Great location. Well stocked kitchen. Beds super comfortable. Very clean. My only suggestion is that there was only a few hangers in the closet and more would be helpful. We give this property a high recommendation.

This property was just right for our family of 3 and would have been great even if all of us 6 (adults) were travelling together. We enjoyed all of the room, the convenient location to all of the places we need to go and the full kitchen to cook and eat some of our meals and especially make our morning cup of coffee. Only thing—the communication with the owner is not quick at all. We had a perpetual problem with the alarm during the entire stay. Tried to communicate this through VRBO, then text, then a phone call (left a VM). I didn’t get an answer until 3:49 a.m. just this morning of our departure. Super frustrating as we had to vacation with this annoying message that would announce the problem (apparently there were 3 failing alarm sensors on the property) even through the night. Being a light sleeper and having the same sort of alarm system at my own home, I would wake up several times the first 2 nights only to remind myself that it’s a false alarm. While waiting for the owner’s answer, we originally followed the Post-it instruction to not touch the alarm console, then we fiddled with it to try to decrease the volume, then we wrapped the console with a small towel and a bunch of tape we found on property. Helped a little but not a lot. The other things is that you need a key to enter the property. Other places we’ve stayed have all had keypads on their doors—no concern about getting locked out. Horrible Experience

The home is cute & in a location we desired. Trouble started upon check-in. An annoying chime from security system every 60 seconds. Was a big sign on the keypad: DO NOT TOUCH. The kitchen was tidy but not clean: dirty sponge in the sink was the only sponge at the place. Crumbs on the counter tops. Master shower rod was broken, it & curtain were in the bottom of the shower. Attempts to fix it were unsuccessful leaving one shower for two couples for the weekend. I left VM messages, texts and messages on VRBO App to the owner, Ernie, who provided his cell during the intro & check-in process. Never heard back from him. (Still haven’t days later!) When getting into bed the first night realized none of the sheets had been changed from the previous guests, so spent two hours doing laundry. The worst part was the security system continually announced either a door/window opening at all hours. It was very loud and we couldn’t figure out how to control the volume or turn it off. So that made for three consecutive sleepless nights. It woke up the entire house every time it went off, which was multiple times each night. The first time we thought someone broke it or had come through the front door. Startling all. Again, no response on how to rectify the problem. Beware of the front steps. They are tile and really slick when wet. We all fell or nearly did at various times. Wife hurt her hip/back. An elderly person or kids could really get hurt!

Great stay

This house waa perfect for our family because of: location to various things in Seaside, Monterrey amd for walking to get exercise or to little shops. The house wad clean and the host was responsive via the VRBO app. We had enough kitchen supplies and I appreciated the ability to do laundry. The beds were comfortable and we all rested well. There were some light bulbs out but this was not a big deal for us. We would stay again!

Great space & location

We returned to this home because it's a lovely space and a great location. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots and pans, serving dishes and utensils so we had a good time cooking for family. There's a patio to eat outdoors and the neighborhood is quiet.
