"The location was good, parking was very easy in Q Park with discount. Room was pretty average for a delux room. No drawers, or suitcase stand so every time I needed something the case went on the bed which isn’t great. There was no close up make up mirror in bathroom which was annoying. No fridge which was also a surprise. I checked in online and got confirmation email saying pick keys up at reception or from machine. Machine wouldn’t dispense keys so went to reception. Female member of staff said you’ve not checked in despite me looking at an email saying I’d successfully booked in online! She was having none of it, not much customer service no apology…."

"Rooms are quite small but perfectly adequate and comfortable for 2 people. Ensuites are "pods" installed in the rooms and so are small but useable. Staff are all excellent, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and hot food was hot, not lukewarm as in so many other hotels. Wi-Fi worked well most of the time though we did experience very brief "outages" in our room. Location was perfect, situated on the edge of Queen's Dock, with rooms on one side of the hotel overlooking the waterfront, very close (easy walking distance) to many of the museums and attractions in the docks and city centre area. One HUGE bonus: parking is on-site and free! And because of the hotel's proximity to so much of Liverpool's attractions, there's no need to have to use a car to get anywhere, unless you want to! We chose to visit some more distant areas, e.g., Aigburth and Ormskirk, since Liverpool was where my wife and I first met over 50 years ago and these were places special to us and where we lived at the time. As an EV driver I was particularly pleased to have charging points available in the hotel car park, and at a very reasonable price when compared with "common" public chargers, 59p per kWh, up to 22 kW. Overall an excellent short break!"

"Parking was easy. Comfortable walk to hooton train station. Staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Food is excellent especially Cajun wedges. Rooms are basic but ask the staff for fridge, hairdryer etc and they’ll provide. Place was quiet. They had a large function with over 100 people Saturday night and no impact to us. Beautiful gardens "

"Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Feels safe with security checking to ensure it is guest coming in late night. Convenient location that is close a close walking distance to major restaurants, stations and popular attractions. "

"Great reimagining of splendid, huge, brick dockside building from Liverpool’s illustrious past. Sumptuous suite. Staff can’t be faulted. Good value. Crazy room numbering system or was it me being dim?!"

"The man at check-in was so downbeat and abrupt. He told me that I had two keys as the toilet and all washing facilities were remote. This was not noted anywhere during booking. This room was over £100 I should note. I then went to the room and it was absolutely tiny. A hard double bed with a tiny single wobbly wardrobe and small table. The only light was a 600mm x 900mm skylight window with a poor blind. Had to be open to make the room a bareable temperature but the light and noise as a result made sleep very difficult. The bathroom down the corridor that was not signed as being a bathroom so I had to go back down the three floors to reception to confirm the bathroom location. It had a really poor power shower, toilet and small sink. The washroom was shared with at least 5 rooms. I will never be going back. Horrible night in a claustrophobic room. Travelodge etc are a major step up in quality and service for comparable price."
