"We found the staff to be pleasant, attentive and friendly. The hotel is well situated next to the Drake mall and under 10 minutes downhill to the Barbican (fun navigating through the 6 foot wide lanes!). Take the lift to - 1. Very good value for the facilities provided and surpasses rival budget chains on price and location. Although next to a busy dual carriageway, the double glazing and air-conditioning blot out most of the noise. Breakfast was fine and the Engligh is well cooked, albeit limited to 7 items. Pastries run out fast and bananas don't exist! Plymouth is a large University city and so if you prefer a more sedate visit then avoid term times - offering you 4 months in the year. Leonardo does well in this hotel. Enjoy your stay - we did! "

"I had just developed a minor medical condition which means using a wheelchair. One to one safety briefing and a ground floor suitable room was provided. Friendly efficient staff and stunning views across Plymouth from the Penthouse restaurant."

"The property was gorgeous! The room was large and the bathroom updated. Staff were really helpful and the food was very good. It IS very remote so if you are going as a destination to really use the amenities-golf course, pool, spa, etc., it was great. We had hoped to use it as a base to travel out from but the roads were so narrow and rather treacherous getting in, we didn’t feel like driving back and forth to other locations in Devon and Cornwall, which was too bad. "

"This is a wonderful, grand, historic building and retains the ambience of Victorian grandeur, even though there are a few scuffs and scrapes and rusted ironwork!. The reception staff were extremely welcoming and efficient and this was the case with all staff that we encountered including the breakfast staff. The room was beautifully decorated and fitted and was very comfortable with all amenities that you could want. Lots of sockets by the bed as well. Our room benefitted from a superb sea view. The breakfast was very good, though veggie/vegan sausages would have been a welcome addition. For the price we paid, this hotel was an absolute bargain and we would love to return here again. Perfect location for anyone visiting Plymouth."

"We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment for 2 nights and it was excellent. The location was great, the price was very good, the room had good amenities & we were able to cook breakfast easily both mornings. 10/10 would highly recommend"
