The hotel is clean and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful; however, the pool was shut down during my entire stay. They host wedding receptions and they last until about 1:30am. It’s a small hotel so the noise from the receptions echo loudly to the entire building which makes it unfair to the rest of the hotel guests.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Great place to stay it is in downtown. What makes it convenient this is the second time I stay there maybe one thing they could work on is put in a mini fridge, but other than that great place!!!
This hotel was clean, generally in good condition. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the bellhops in the lobby area. I gave an average rating overall as the rooms were very small, and I had a function to attend shortly after check in...it was 5:15 PM, & I had to wait for my room to be made ready for over 15 minutes.
Very basic but clean hotel, staff very friendly good for the price and close to everything. On the other hand, it is a little noisy even with signs everywhere to be silent people do not respect that so if you stay here just bring earplugs. Another area of opportunity will be the restaurant that is only open in the morning (would have been great to be able to have dinner there) and the service was slow and also need to serve better coffee. If you are disabled or just don’t like stairs there is no elevator make sure you ask for a room in the ground floor and last but important for all coffee drinkers the do not provide a coffee maker.
Todo el personal de Hotel es muy amable, la limpieza de las habitaciones es excelente. la comida del restaurante es muy buena y la atención es excelente. Nuestra estancia fue muy agradable. Éramos un grupo de 6 personas por 10 días.
The hotel in general is old but nice, walking distance from the center with shop and restaurant very close by. Staff were nice. Bed was comfortable. I had a room facing the street so it was a little noisy. The TV channel in my room were black and white and of course all in Spanish. And the other issue was the toile, there was sign, don’t throw toilet paper into the toilet because of the old plumbing I guess.
This was a nice place, very helpful and friendly staff. I am a digital nomad, working from the road, so fast WiFi is very important and there WiFi was fast enough to support my work.
The only downside is the restaurant and room service closed at 2:30pm everyday and earlier on the weekends. They advertised it was open until 9:30pm or 10:30pm.
The number one thing we loved about the Hotel del Gobernador was the staff. They were excellent in not only doing their job but also doing the little things that made our stay so memorable! Especially the two door men Roger and ? who went above and beyond. The location was great and having restaurants so close by was handy, If we return to Merida it will be our first choice.
The staff is very attentive. The location is very good. The rooms are large, The water in the shower is hot. The hotel restaurant is very good and inexpensive. The hotel, in general, is kept quite clean. The rooms are kept very clean.
Great location, three blocks to the Centro, Chaya Maya and Five blocks to Santa Lucia Pl. very clean rooms, good staff, two bottles of water every day. Bathrooms were great. 42 inch flatscreenCNN. Restaurant and bar are both good, pool is very clean. AC worked great, and everyday I was there I liked it more. Gym had two bikes and a treadmill.
Excellent staff always trying to help!
Free parking for those driving to Mérida.
Nice pool to....really cool down as the water is really cold at least compared to the outside temperature. Didn't stop the kids for going into but even them could not bear it too long.
Amazing staff, so welcoming, friendly & helpful from the front desk, bellman, restaurant & housekeeping! Comfy bed, very clean. Very close to the main plazas and everything walkable. The only thing is it is a typical Mexican construction that sounds carry very well thought the open courtyard. Made a bit louder being a ladies conference there with 170 extra ladies and children! If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs. And honestly the noise did not go late into the night! I will definitely stay here again!
